First off, welcome.

I'd first ask to see the other side as well, but I'd imagine this is a medal of some sort rather than a coin per se. The pertrait would seem to be possibly that of a figure from the Elizabethan period of English history, maybe Sir Walter Raleigh?

Hi,

thanks for your response. In fact I alo think is a medal. at the back there's nothing, just flat black.

it probably is from the elizabethan period but is not sir walter raleigh. maybe someone else?

Since the medal is flat on the back I would suspect that it was made to fit into something, perhaps some sort of display that had the name of person in the portrait on it.

Try looking up portrait medallion displays.
