1999 Connecticut State Quarter. both the obv rev seem to have undergone similar processes except the obv has different colored bands and seems to have more obliteration of details. if this is post mint how would a coin get in this shape? thanks for your knowledge all.

Looks like the coin was heated. The yellow color is not a good sign:

ah I see. the coins in that photo seem to be modified for profit (nicely struck coins). what would drive someone to artifically tone a terrible looking coin(obverse looks pretty bad)? maybe someone was practicing their artificial toning *shrugs*

I like it,it could have just been sitting in water with oil in the water. I would keep for sure.

Looks like it sat in an old tin coffee can with some dirty water for a while. Rust from the can leached to the coin.
