My understanding is that the point of CAC stickers is to assist dealers buying "sight unseen." The theory is that one factor depressing the prices of "sight unseen" coins is that some of them are not especially attractive for the grade. Incidentally, CAC will only sticker PCGS and NGC slabs.

I guess this could also help collectors who need to have someone else tell them that a coin looks good.

I cannot imagine any collector wanting a coin with half the reverse covered up by a large red sticker. I'm kinda surprised that dealers want that.

Ah well, if I ever end up with one (which is profoundly unlikely), it won't be staying in its stickered plastic tomb for long anyway.

Just seems odd Laxmaster that you call it a scam here, but you're willing to sell it on eBay like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Interesting, THAT was what the SLABS were for in the beginning.

And folks that is NOT a sticker on the back of the slabs, just an information card in a 2X2 that is taped to the slab. You are SUPPOSED to take that off. The only sticker is the little oval thing on the front.

I guess dealers need a lot of help to pay more when buying sight unseen.

Thanks for the clarification about the red sticker, Conder. Regarding my biggest problem with CAC, to quote Rosanne Rosanna Danna, "Never mind." (I'm still not a big fan, but then I'm not a dealer buying sight unseen, so CAC wasn't designed for me, anyway.)

The CAC sticker wouldn't bother me, but it would add exactly $0.00 worth of extra value IMO. If you can get the stickers for free, then there's no harm done. It's kind of like getting those free ANACS opinions on raw coins at major coin shows.

Wasn't it Emily Latella who said "never mind"?
Either way, it was the late, great Gilda Radner.

be nice if you can get your coins stickered and the TPG's honor them like Gold or something and if you resubmit a coin with a sticker they upgrade the coin or something, but I just don't see that happening. As Metalman said I don't see any difference when buying from a individual with these coins stickered but definately smell a price increase if you were to buy one from a dealer with a sticker on it
