HABIB, There are many of them on ebay and they are getting easier to discern. If you look at this auction, he has specific pictures of coins (with blow-ups) and yet there are 40 lots available. Hard to get 40 exact copies of the same coin ... you have to read between the lines to know he's just going to put together a type set with any coins he has available. No where does he say these are stock photos ... other than in his email response to you. I would suggest you add his USERID to the "not recommmended" thread. He's already on my list. ***Edited by Forum Dad to remove personal attack***

thankfully I saw this post. I was going to bid on one of the seller's items today. Something smelled fishy and said I'd check back later. Thanks for the post!

I am just so glad I found CCF before I gave up on collecting. I am going to keep reporting his listings and if others see violations, I hope they will join me. The least ebay will have to do is pay somebody to delete our emails and they may eventually decide to do something about him.

Beware of the Power Sellers! empty threats of someone that's in a corner. I don't know why they even bother with dealing with questions from buyers. Every single time I buy something I Always check for stock pictures from current and ended listings just to make sure. If I ain't gettin what's pictured then I'll report it and move along

Habib, thank you so much for posting this exchange. I agree that his threats are mostly idle and his responses clearly indicate that you may have hit a nerve. I think there will be more careful eyes on his auctions now. I have been reporting suspected fraud on ebay for years now. Thanks again. Mike

I think he was scamming and was thinking that maybe you were ebay or you were going to report him. You should, that ASE looked fake. Edited by Tights24 to keep family friendly.....

Here's the last of our "discussion." Yesterday I replied to carrconnection: quote: Thank you, please do report all of our communication with your powerseller advisor. I would be more than happy to discuss any of my concerns with him or her. In case you deleted any of my emails I would be happy to provide your powerseller advisor a link to the complete record of our email exchange as I've posted it on my favorite coin collecting web forum.
Here's the email I just received from carrconnection: quote: to bad s like you dont get to talk to anyone
It would all be funny if it weren't so sad.

ebay has, over the past couple of years, allowed WAY too many of these types of "sellers" to stay in business and, in fact, thrive under the Powerseller" program. It's a shame because there are good people selling on ebay, but they are being overshadowed by the scumbags. I quit buying coins on ebay because of ebay's penchant for allowing fraud artists free reign on their website. I find much better deals at the two local coin shows we hold each year. I just save up my coin money and spend hours at the shows enjoying myself. I haven't run into a bad seller yet
