I picked up a few 50 cents today and noticed the year 1993 50 cent but it was filled with grime and didn't like it although I am well aware that the second Queen portrait isn't very common. I decided to spend it right away. Silly me, when I checked the mintage, it's just a mere million compared to tens of millions to the other 50 cents.

The only thing that is as rare is the 1985 50 cents. I have them both in my collection but it could have helped someone who is looking for that key date...

On the bright side, I pulled a 2007 20 cents and a 2003 Volunteer's 50 cents. I found it pretty difficult to find it these days - last time I remember pulling one was last year. I can send it off for trade.

Geez does everyone go to the bank and ask for hundreds dollar worth of coins?

Blast, you should have sent it to me! I am missing the 93 and 85 and for some reason the 80.

I'm missing a 1972 50 cents which is pretty low at 5.6m. My 1980 50 cents isn't in a decent condition either. Otherwise it should be a complete set... other than the commemorative coins and 2007 if there is one. I'll keep a look out to see if it ever comes back although I doubt it. Doh!

According to the RAM's 06/07 annual Report, up to 30 Jun 07, there have been 1.847m 50¢ minted for 2007. It's most likely that there'll be more minted, and further stats published about this time next year which will give the final figures.

Cor blimey, I'll have to see if I can help you folks out with those spaces. Please advise which COF 20¢ & 50¢ you're after. I definitely have spares of all of them. They might be a bit battered, but they'll certainly fill any gaps.

G'day,
quote: "Geez does everyone go to the bank and ask for hundreds dollar worth of coins?"

I'm trying to wean myself, so I limit myself to $50 per week.
The denominations depend on what takes my fancy.
