I Just saw this in my email

You talk about a way to sell an ASE.

Is this the definition of desperation?

Just... Wow.

Can I get one signed by Mickey Mouse? Cause Mickey Mouse was atleast created in the same century as the ASE.
Rest in Peace

The term I would normally use at this point is inappropriate for Coin Community.
Rest in Peace

No! You got it all wrong!

The latest edition of Holder and Label Collector Quarterly has an article on these. The Earp series is going to be the biggest thing since belly button lint.

Never had much use for belly button lint either.

Just imagine if there was a Morgan dollar that was proven to be Wyatt Earp's pocket piece- this label would then be appropriate and unbelievably awesome.

Maybe, but Wyatt Earp probably had a WHOLE lot of Morgans in his pocket, and probably some Peace dollars as well. He didn't die unto 1929.

And that's the thing about Morgans that grabs me. Above all else, they were the "small" coins that the big personalities carried, the only silver because they never accepted change. Worn Morgans all have a story, and larger stories are disproportionally represented.

This is what I'm afraid of with this slabbed stuff and why I made that thread a few days ago suggesting a waiting period of 5 years (or whatever 5 is just what came to my mind) before having something slabbed, besides proofs and such. They're turning this label into a meaningless thing, soon every coin is gonna be slabbed with a reference to some historical figure. A fake signature and a smile... come on now, that's just insulting, let the man rest. I get the interest in the man, but not this. I know it's up to the person what they deem worthy to spend their own money on, but stop with all this. I just went through some stuff and saw I had a slabbed wilbur wright coin, ms69 or something... I got rid of it because it just doesn't sit well with me. I don't remember how I got it or why, it must've been a trade or something... but whatever.
