Some of you remember me from my "Why You Should Collect Newfoundland Coins" thread that was rather popular. I had mentioned a variety book for Newfoundland coins was being worked on for the past few years. I had the good fortune to be involved in the layout and design of the book, while the tough work was left to a gentleman named Barry Borsellino. Barry has put his excellent research, writing, and photography skills to great use in assembling this book. It sits at 475 pages and covers most dates of Newfoundland coinage. A full listing is found in the ebay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Newfoundlan...141602891498It is currently listed as available on CD in PDF format. I personally think PDF is the way to go since you can zoom in on the high quality images to get a closer look. A printed book version is in the works as funding becomes available. Here's a photobucket album of a few pages: http://s292.photobucket.com/user/Ma...l/slideshow/I'd be happy to answer any questions about Newfoundland coins in general and the book. Hey Matt, I'm going to wait for the printed version, have you any idea when it will be available?

Quote: Hey Matt, I'm going to wait for the printed version, have you any idea when it will be available? I'm really hoping within 6 months. There are a few places like the RCNA that offer grants for publications and Barry has been in touch and seen good interest from them.

I believe that article is from 2012 but it's about the same book. It's been worked on for quite some time!
A press release is a great idea. I'll see what Barry can come up with and I'll also try to get him to create an account here to post with.

Just ordered it. I anticipate it will be a great addition to my reference books.

An American bought the book? Nice to see some provincial love going international! I am going to hold out until I can pick up a physical copy.

Harmonica, Dan (in Crystal Lake) has been an avid large cent researcher of Canadian and Provincial strikes, for well over a decade (since I have known him), and probably much longer!! Some of his work has been published in the CN Journal.

Really, that is cool. Dan, do you have any connection to the area? I have started reading your articles on your blog. It is so technical and far beyond anything I could say on the topic, great read.
