Irfanview is a very useful program in dealing with images. You can use it to put obverse & reverse slab pictures together for one image on ebay or use it for your raw coins in your collection.

Irfanview is a free program and can be downloaded off the net. Here is one place - http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/967963863/1

Man, thanks for this!
I do side by sides often.
It can be done with Photodeluxe, but it's an eight-cylinder pain!

Thanks!

Hmmm, that's really good to know. I've been using Irfanview for a couple of years, but never knew it could do that.

Neat thing about it is, several times I've emailed them to ask a question, and Irfan Skiljan himself (the guy who invented it) always answers me personally in a day.

I was wondering if the capability exists to place arrows on the image. Several times I've wanted to point something out but don't know if it can be done with that software. That was going to be my next email to him.

Very cool, I gotta try this out. I've been doing it by hand and it's a major pain in the butt. Thanks for the link and tutorial!

You can teach and old dog new tricks.

I use Irfanview to crop and edit my photos, but until I read this, was not aware of some of the other things it could do. Thanks for the tutorial 50cents !

Fishnwidow= I even posted the pic right and forum Dad won't have to fix it for me.

To revive an old thread. This panorama works great if the pics don't have the black canvas background as part of the pic. Anyone know how to remove the black canvas background so it is not part of the coin pic?

I have been using Irfanview for years and didn't know it could do this. Have had to resort to other methods for putting obv and rev side by side.

Thanks for posting this, oh so long ago, DeWayne.

Haven't figured out how to do this with Irfanview but to answer my own query here, the black background can be removed and the image upper-left justified by doing a "zealous crop" with GIMP.
