Is there anything I need to know about mailing coins to Canada like do they randomly inspect packages, do I need to write numismatic item on the envelope and so on ?

I always write "Numismtic Items" or something similar. And put a declared value of a buck or 2 if it's not insured as to avoid possible taxes. Best thing is it's cheaper to ship small packages to Canada from the US then it is from me to you!

Just make sure they don't clink together or shake loose. That is a dead giveaway, and I've had more than one package arrive that had been opened by CCRA. Fortunately, I haven't been sent anything of any great value, and whoever opened it decided not to keep it.

I have a good friend that lives in New York state that has been sending me Lincoln cents, He has them in 2x2s between sticky cardboard so they don't move around, I've have'nt had any problems so far, He puts a dollar or so air mail stamp on, and they always arrive.

I been buying canadian coins from an ebay seller in Canada and when I receive the bubble mailer, there is no customs sticker of any sort.
