I have one piece. A special coin to me as the year is engraved on the edge.

I lived in Italy for a number of years and found 2 of them in change but in pretty poor condition

Angielczyk, you said you had found this coin in your change. Did it happen in early 60s?

late 60's or early 70's

At late 60's and afterwards, the actual bullion should be higher than the face value of the coin so these coins were no longer circulated. Angielczyk, you were lucky to receive a real circulating piece personally.

Always liked that design. The first time I found one it took me awhile before I realized the date was on the edge.
