AU-58 Scratches are a little annoying but I don't believe that it warrants a details grade. Just my opinion. TPG may grade higher though, may grade as details coin. Who knows. They've been known to be a little inconsistent. :) On second thought looking at the denticles maybe it's just a weak strike.

I'm borderline whether this coin warrants a details grade or not, but I'm going to say no, it's market-acceptable. I grade AU-55/58.

Reeded Halfs are an amazing little set, abounding in varieties, given the most delicate toning of any silver and counting among them a couple of the great US numismatic rarities. You gotta be a player to reach for the Condition Census with these.

GR-3 from the crack. Really cool effect in the denticles - light at the same opposing sides of the planchet, both faces, like the planchet was thin there. Pretty much all of these struck up funny at the denticles, though. Snag 'em if you see 'em with complete sharp denticles, unless the rest of the strike suffered as a result.

It's as mystifying now as in the first thread. I see MS64 sort of surfaces, maybe scratched in a cabinet, or it could be a slider. No courage to make a decision.

I think I see a tiny amount of wear on the high points of Liberty's hair, e.g., below and behind the ear. This wear has long since been patinated over.

I will guess AU-58 details: cleaned. My concern is the coin doesn't seem to have much original mint luster even around the stars and reverse lettering which are areas where usually one of the last areas mint luster is worn away. The coin is basically blast white with little to no wear to which I have a hard time coming up with a reason why the luster would be diminished that does not include things that are not considered market acceptable. I am assuming the photos are taken in a similar way as the other Morgan dollars which all are dripping with luster. Nevertheless, still quite a coin!

I counted on this one coming back cleaned....definitely expected that....but.....man they killed me on this one. I still think this one should warrant at least 58 details, was hoping for MS details...regardless its staying with me.
