I have 4 1987-D Roosevelt dimes. 1 has the mint mark level and above the 7, just like all photo's I've seen. 1 has the mark level but between the 8 and 7. The other 2 have the mark between the 8 and 7 but it is skewed from level and 1 is larger then the other. Are they all legit?

Until 1990, mintmarks were added to the dies by hand with a punch. So there will be some slight variation to where the mintmark is located, as well as being possibly being slightly tilted. As long as the mintmark is in the right general location, there is no additional value. Sometimes they may actually touch the numbers in the date, and that can bring some additional value. As far as differences in size, it could be due to die wear, Struck Through Grease, or damage. A picture comparing the two would help determine what is going on.

I have one where this D is doubled. Looks to have a weird ghost D diagonally down and off to the right behind and in addition to the original Droid. Never found this listed on DDO lists, hence why I ended up here. Will posts pics later tonight when I get home.

Elise, first to the forum. You need to start your own thread with your own pix (both sides) and the questions comments about it for us to help you with it.
Sound like you have MD, Mechanical Doubling, you may see that effect on other devices.
