I don't know much about tokens , but I bought this in a lot and the Cuds and die clashing are just crazy. It is apparently a know variety but I am wondering what grade it would be and if Fuld numbers have die progressions to them too----ie LDS (late die state) Terminal die state etc and if it changes their value.

I've seen many of this merchant's tokens in a similar state. Still, this is an interesting piece, what with the clashed die, the Cuds and some doubling to boot. Unlike the early coppers, products of the U.S. Mint, the die states tend to matter little to most CWT collectors. So, any added value tends to be modest at best. It does make for a neat, study piece though, and some collectors would justify paying a modest premium as such. Ironically, this diesinker/engraver, Horter, was known for his typically well designed and well struck CWT's.

I got curious as to how many of this variety and die state might now be offered on ebay. I see a few. Here's one:

There's another one with fewer Cuds being offered at a lesser price. Some collectors seek out examples of progressive die states. Sometimes, the tokens without errors tend to be the most difficult to locate!

Thanks for the info! I did see that one on ebay and I noticed the 7A1 which to me indicted a later die state. I guess I will just list mine at around his price and see what happens.
