Quote: Came across this 1 in my collection today, I think the REV die shattered after this 1 I'll bet that die came out of the press in pieces! Very nice example! Quote:hi all just starting to research all my old coins that I've stashed for years I'm just wondering why everyone talks about Cuds on their coins are they collectable, valuable or just a hobby any other info on coins would be greatly welcomed as well thank you in advance There may be a few value added die breaks out there but I'm in it for the fun of it myself.

1902-O VAM-15A the die break between E & DO is much farther along than the image at VAMworld for this VAM, suggesting late die stage. there is considerably more die cracking happening around the break and elsewhere around the coin, primarily on the reverse. i have a few other die crack examples on coins but this one is probably my best example. scored from a junk silver bin at a miami coin shop two summers ago.

How about a die crack and a die break together? Crack goes from rim through O - the break is obvious! I plan on giving this cent it's own thread later today.
