Here's one I've been debating... I love the color, and it's a less common date that I don't have yet... But it's pricy. And there's a pretty good price jump between grades. This ones slabbed by one of the top three.. I'm just not sure I like it as what they did, lol... For that kind of money at least. It's really a shame about the rim ding.... The obverse looks great aside of that, almost flawless and a pretty good strike, I can live with the ding, it's be a crying morgan, lol. The reverse on the other hand looks pretty baggy to me for the grade..
But I really like it, it would fit right in with my others, this is the style/apperence of toning I look for.. Uugh.. Choices choices..

Anyways, what do you guys like this one as?

My guess is its a 63 with a bump to 64 for the color.

That rim impression below Liberty's eye really hurts it. The tip of the Phrygian cap also looks disturbed. Lot of field chatter on the reverse. Toning's a little on the splotchy side, not of the primo value enhancing type. I wouldn't pay more than an MS62 price regardless of what the slab says.

I like it as VAM-5A, and 63 sounds right. Toning is splotchy under this light but it would be something else entirely under axial lighting.

I've seen TPG slabbed Morgans with rim marks on the face like the one you are showing that grade MS61 and others MS63. I don't even see the rim ding? The toning I can take or leave. The most I would pay is MS60 CDN ask price. Good luck.

The hit on the face will limit it to 63 but other than that one blemish she's a beautiful coin. Toning is pretty good I don't think it will add much to the value but it's certainly attractive.

very cool toning

the hit below the eye is definitely 'there', but otherwise the front is nice

the reverse has several infield hits...nice strike, and there's seems to be good luster too...

Those were basically my thoughts as well, I like it as a 63..... But it's a slabbed 4 and they're asking close to the 64 numismedia pricing (around $650), which is quite a bit with that hit. And there's a huge jump for this year/mint from 63-64 pricing so.... I guess I'm going to let it pass.... If it weren't for that little hit she'd be great!
