Post only a picture of one side of the coin they are selling? What a pain always having to ask to add another picture of the other side of the coin. Makes me not even want to buy from these people. I like to just buy a coin I want I hate having to ask for more pictures. Example: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1949-Canada-...00876515058?Edited by redcentcollector 03/20/2015 12:28 am

I guess it is a whole level of lazy I must say.
Making a sale fast would be the goal no?

I've noticed this problem with several sellers too. Sometimes even on $1000+ items. It really is ridiculous.

You see this often with ICCS coins. Maybe the lister is having a bit of a learning curve with his photoshop. be kind and just inquire about another picture or two. most sellers will happily oblige. keep smiling!

Trying to have more patience with this. I will simply copy paste and save my question that way I will save time in the future.

zxcccxz For me it is not the value of the coin....could be a 20$ coin still bugs me. But what gets me is I get excited about a coin seen one side then I have to worry and wait to see the other side....I hate that. I prefer looking and buying right away or moving on right away.

I see this all the time from some very experienced sellers. Some seem to think a graded coin doesn't need photos, some seem to be just lazy. Rarely is it a must-have coin, so I just skip it. The odds that I'll take more time to email and ask for photos are low when there's another similar coin available with photos.

I am guilty of doing this, but mostly with modern coins. It has nothing to do with being lazy, and no excuse is necessary. In my case, I work for a living, and with kid's activities almost every evening, I frankly just don't have the time to list more than a handful of coins every week... These "buy-it-now or best offer" listings are not intended for fast sales, they are intended to sell, when they sell... You folks have to remember, not everyone on ebay is a business... for most of us, it is a hobby...

Roger, I agree in some cases where it is more of a sideline than a business, someone might not have time. In this instance though, Century Stamp & Coin has been around for 25 years. They do a lot of sales over the internet and should have time to be able to show both sides of a coin.

When I see a listing on ebay and the seller only post a picture of one side of the coin I always just skip it and move on. I never contact the seller and ask for a picture of the other side. You naturally think their probably hiding something. I recently seen this on ebay on a $1500 coin and have even seen it on auctions. There's two sides to every coin and if the seller or auction house isn't smart enough to realize this I prefer to stay away from them.

I agree. I find that the biggest problem with buying coins online is that you are relying on the honesty and photos of someone you've likely never met, rather than getting a good look at the coin in person. Also, a coin may be TPG graded but I still want to see both sides of the coin to see if I find it to be visually appealing enough to buy. I buy the coin for the coin, not for the holder.

vermontensium I took a few risks and 90% of the time the other side was the worst one....stains and all. No more risks for me I want to see both sides and good images as well.

Hey!, that's my LCS, I have examined this coin and it is pretty. They are overly busy and don't have lots of time to do scanning so please forgive them. I know it seems shady but they're some of the nicest guys I know and are very honest. They may be joining the forum and it would be a real shame for them to see this thread. Century has been around since 1946 and is a well respected business. These people have families and are always doing something weather its dealing with me, Another HAPPY costomer or taking care of the business's founder who is 89 but still musters up the strength to go to work just to make sure every thing is okay. It makes me sad that they are being judged like this. I know them and have seen their faces and many of you don't even know the name of the guy behind the listing, well I do and I can vouch for him. I know they only sell the best because I have scanned items for their ebay because of how busy they are. It sickens me to see them being ridiculed like this!
Feel free to call me Will.
