Wow. I'd certainly look into it for $20 a piece.

Some look good and some look fake. They may be all genuine and the crappy pictures are throwing me off. The first picture makes the coins look the most genuine, and the last picture makes the coins look the most fake. I just can't tell.

I think there is a good possibility that each and every one of them are fake, but the low light, crappy photos make it hard to tell for sure.

I agree ... I strongly suspect that most, if not all are fakes. Even though the pics are distant, the uniformity of color and wear. gray and XF-ish, convey that impression. The circumstances of the offering tend to support this opinion, too.

Too good to be true.

99% chance they are all fake and the Seller knows it too!

Like the old saying goes, it if looks to good to be true, probably isn't. Or something like that.

The only way to find out if it's a bargain or not would be to go and check them out. Don't forget to bring your scale and dial caliper!

Had I the money, I'd be all over that. Arrange a meeting at a place agreeable to both, bring a loupe and decide in-hand. No risk, no reward.

The reason I say they are probably counterfeit is because the toning is too uniform across the coins and is too similiar in appearance. The chances of having nearly identical toning appearing on over 40 coins is slim and none. Notice there are no close up pictures? There is a reason for that.

The Chinese counterfeiters are pretty good at simulating wear and toning on everything they make.

Don't let emotions get in the way of critical thinking.

Speaking of uniform toning. I just purchased this lot and a little weird how the red toning on one coin is throughout but one coin is only toned red on the eagle. Could this happen due to storage? The other coins have a little splash or red but not much.

Could it be the lighting or the cameras white balance causing the uniform hue?

Storage materials and environment is my guess.

reminds me of one of my brothers who saw an ad posted in a mall in Ontario some years back that advertised "Grandpas collection for sale" and he started salivating and getting all sweaty palms heart rate up etc.. story goes took the ad down so no one else could call on the hoard he envisioned that was going to be his come heck or high water. Long and short of it met up with "Grandson" in parking lot late at night passed over thousands of dollars and you all guessed the rest of the story by now, a great big pile of fakes from all over the world..his pride got the best of him , took a hissy fit sold off most of his collection and wont talk about it to this day. Pity but greed clouded his otherwise sharp mind and he drilled a hole in a 32 50cent piece of mine when we were kids so I only felt sorry for him for a minute well, maybe 5 minutes...
