If you have collected Canadian copper for a while, then you realize the Landon stuff was pretty special. Trust me, it was not all this good, but pretty much all of it had this original, not played with, look.

Absolutely nothing in coin collecting can beat a 100% original 125+ year old original coin. A truly stunning coin. Congratulations and the nicest Large cent I have ever seen.

Thanks, Wireman. There is some amount of pressure that comes with being the caretaker of these heirlooms. They will remain and we will be gone. Can I do them no harm and maintain them as they are?

Bosox: this coin is stunning. I also recall you showing us Another coin you had acquired....another dealer had been holing onto it for awhile and you finally acquired it at the auction I presume....those in your inner circle should be so honoured to see your nice collection.... I never thought I could tell the difference between say a 64 & 67 but now seeing your coin it's as clear as night and dy WOW!!

Wow, Skip. Amazingly, you are able to look something up and post it. Except, if I wished to change the focus of this thread from the merits of the coin to the price of the coin, I probably would have done so myself when asked. Your contribution provides an excellent example of why I do not post here more often.

I took care of that for you Rob... as for the rest of you, let's use this thread to admire something that looks almost like the day it was struck... this is not something you see every day... Absolutely breathtaking... thanks for sharing Rob!

Quote: ...but what happens when the ICCS holder gets too old? I suspect the ICCS holder is all but a temporary custodian... If you have not seen Rob's PCGS Registry set of large cents, I suggest you go take a peek... be prepared, put on your sunglasses!!

Bosox, an incredible coin that has found a good home where it will be well cared for. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Following up on SPP-Ottawa's post, would you mind posting the name of your registry set?

SPP: I really never knew how or what PCGS registry sets were all about.. (although I had some sort of idea from you mentioning them before)...
But I must really thank you and Bosox (Rob) for sharing!... OMG! I'm not going to lie when I am saying I think I have spent the last 2.5 hours of my life just looking an taking in many of the photos and astounded!
I think my favourite of the lot was the P.E.I. one cent... I was absolutely floored!
Once again Bosox.. thank you for putting that up... It's certainly a stunningly beautiful collection... I don't know you but I kind of just felt like I caught a "glimpse" of your inner circle and saw your private collection ... it was really a treat... thank you thank you thank you so much... I am sorry that you have been put off by others who ask "how much did it cost" ... but please don't stop sharing... I am just a common collector with simple means but seeing you're coins was like a prairie boy seeing the mountains for the first time....
Your coins are like unicorns man! Unicorns!

I would have to ''baptize'' this MS-67 1 cent the King of Canadian Cents for sure!! The only one been more important in my view would the the 1936 dot cent coins.
