I sure would like to see more of you folks' coins. If you look to the left of your screen, scroll down and you'll see "stuff for members". Under that is "member photo galleries".

Only 169 members have signed up and uploaded their pics for FREE in several years?!?!?

All you have to do is request permission in the support forum, and then you can upload your entire collection. I have uploaded about 15 of my coins in the past 2 days. I need better pics of the rest before I load em up.

I sure would like to see what some of you people have.

The ccf member photo gallery is not 'flick'r'. It takes a little patience, and a little finesse.

Here's what I've got going so far - some (not all) of my large cents.

This is my profile page. Click the picture of the large cent, and please be kind. I just started figuring the photo gallery out yesterday.

Shoot for an image size of about 200-225kb at an actual coin diameter of 800 pixels. That gives an image large enough to grade while being small enough to let you put multiple images in a thread without compromising the experience of viewers on Mobile or with lesser bandwidth.

You can reach that size easily using Jpeg Quality in the Save As dialog in your graphics software. In my typical postptocessing workflow, the typical image is around 1MB when processed and sized to 800px. Saving it at a Quality of 75-80% in the Gimp or about 90% in Photoshop gets you there.

That will also get you an image which goes through the CCF Uploader without alteration.

I would love to see more members take advantage of this. It is a great way to store your images.

For the pictures I've posted on the forums I've used "Paint Shop". If you keep the picture size at 300 x 300 px you should be fine. I make mine a little bit smaller just to be safe.

If you down size a picture & it's smaller than you want don't increase the size again. Start over & just keep judging the % on the sizing & you'll get it.

This takes a little time at first but once you get the hang of it it gets a lot easier. This is how I do it anyway. I hope I was helpful.

I'm going to have to try the "Gallery" soon.

I forgot to mention that each image gets a link that you can use to copy and paste an image into a forum post.

Scott, nice large cents by the way!
