Trying to find out about this coin. Any information would be helpful. What would cause this and what would it be classed under?

Hello and welcome.

I can't really see how such a thing would result from a mint error, but then I can't really see what's going on here. If I had to guess, I'd guess the coin has been superglued onto something, on both sides.

Yeah clearer pics would help. It looks to me like I can see an E backwards in front of the one. Maybe a clash? It almost looks like it lines up with the e from George on the obverse.but maybe it's an illusion.

It looks to me like a tool was used to push the metal towards the center in a circular fashion around the coin. The metal looks gouged, then at the end of the gouges, it appears that the metal has been pushed into a pile. I think it's PMD and someone was practicing with a tool of some kind.

and to the forum!

Welcome to the forum!

When you look at CANADA on the reverse, you can tell that the coin was struck first and then damaged later.
