i have a quarter that has only the back of the coin printed. it has it's raised edges but is blank on the front side and hollowed out. do you think someone some how took the front off the quarter? is it a error from the mint?
i have tried to get better photos but obviously my camera is not very good it seems. I do hope what I have is helpful though.

I can't see in the pictures, is the edge of the coin reeded or is it smooth. I'm guessing it isn't a real quarter and may be a trinket of some kind.

Edit: Almost forgot to say

It's a Magicians coin without the other side of it in place.

Just another guess but maybe someone was trying to make a magic coin with the help from a machinist.

Edit: KisNap beat me to it

Kisnap has it correct. Part of the coin was lost and probably put in a roll to get rid of it to get a quarter.
