NGC has reported some error proofs are being submitted, so if you are buying these sets it may be a good idea to give them a once over instead of just piling them with the other coins in the box as I did when I received mine. here is the article from NGC about these errors http://www.ngccoin.com/news/viewart...rticleID=403

I look at mine, the only thing that I saw, which I think is common, is the writing in the edges were different ie: one was upside down while the other was right side up.

Actually, I believe this is a major error! I read that, unlike regular business strike coins where the writing in the edges were random - one was upside down while the other was right side up - the Proofs were all supposed to be right side up!

If you found Proofs that were upside down, this is a major error!

The following is from about.com: coins by Susan Headley, Presidential dollars - The Facts About the New U.S. Presidents Dollar Coin:

http://coins.about.com/od/uscoins/a...nts_coin.htm

"The edge lettering is being applied randomly with regard to whether it faces up or down on the business strike coins, after the coins are struck. The business strike coins are fed through a vaccuum-like device that sucks them up into the edge lettering prep machine, which lines them up in whichever way the coins happen to enter the process (heads up or down.) Then the coins roll through a device that inscribes the edge lettering. It is expected that in the end, heads-up edge lettering should be about equal in number to coins which receive "tails-up" edge lettering.

The edge lettering for the proof coins is being done with a specially-designed three-part collar that will always (hopefully) ensure that the edge lettering faces upward."

"...upside-down edge lettering is NOT an error unless the coin is in (or came from) a Proof Set from the Mint."

Never mind, I got all excited for nothing, it is my uncirculated set from the mint, Sorry for the confusion. I did check my proof set, they do make it hard to see the lettering on the sides on those sets.
