I have found a bunch of these. They all have what looks like doubling at the bottom of the "I" in "IN", some have a little bit on the "N", and the first "1" in "1971". Sometimes a lot of the letters in "LIBERTY" show similar doubling, but mostly the "T" and the "I". Some of these align with the Variety Vista description and the pictures in Cherrypickers looks similar. I have put pictures of the best examples from multiple coins below. What do you think?

It is a doubled die, but not as strong as the 102. So it might be a new die or one listed that was not pictured yet. The bad thing about the CP guide, is that they don't list marker images. other publications my list some of the ones they have attributed not all. That is frustrating also. You buy the books thinking you have all the listed dies, but disappointed later when you figure it out.

Thanks Coop! Yeah, I hear ya on the frustration about trying to find marks. I bet there have been lots of other double dies that I have cast away just because I can't find markers and/or pictures in the books, etc. So if this is a double die, how would I go about identifying it from here?

Anybody know how I should attribute this one? I'm finding more and more of them. I am starting to think that maybe all, or least half, 1971D were made like this. Should I be keeping them? I have almost three rolls at AU or better now. Too many! Thoughts?

I would definitely keep them until you know more about them. I found over 300 doubled dies in 50 rolls of 1960 LMC.
