Where is a good place to buy airtites for 1oz Silver Maple Leaf coins? Which size should I get and should I go for the direct fit or the ones with the rings? Are the rings foam or rubber? Are the rings safe to use on the coins?

Hi nds

I buy my airtites from GBCoin http://myworld.ebay.com/gbcoinauctions ,they are very reliable and great to deal with . the prices are good also .

What size for the Maple leafs ? I don't own one and have no Idea what the diameter is of them .

I like the ones with the rings for my silver coins ,,and the rings are safe .

Check the site out ,,if your not sure what to buy ask them they will help you out .

If you have the free adobe reader software installed you can figure out which size to buy. Print out this Ring Diameter Gauge from JP's corner and use your coin to find the correct size.

The rings are made from a soft, chemically inert foam which I have never had any problems with. I usually order from JP's Corner because I like the service, but you may find them a bit cheaper elsewhere. There was a thread about air-tites and the cheapest suppliers here last spring.

Brent-Krueger recommends an I-38 for the Canadian 1 oz silver maple leaf coin.

Supposing I wanted to remove a coin from an airtite, do they come undone easily or easy to pop the coin out?

Just insert your thumbnail into the seam on the edge and lightly pull the two halves apart. Usually they come apart quite easily.
