I spoke about this one a couple of months ago, but lacked a decent camera. I still need to work on the white balance. Care to assign grade and attribute VAM?

yep, gimme a minute, I think its a VAM-82 but not 100% sure


Edit: it has got to be a VAM-82 since it has the full nostril, it is the only B1 Reverse that has this feature.If you look you should see a die scratch going from the top leaf of the wreath to the eagles right wing like this one

I don't know for sure but since you are putting me on the ropes like you are I guess I would say AU-55 because it looks like wear above the ear and on the breast feathers

I'm with Bryan on the grade; you'd expect nice strikes for this issue, so weakness above the ear is likely wear. The eagle's legs tell the same story.

I can't add much to the grading discussion other than to say that quite a few of my Morgans have surfaces like this one with nice toning and some have either been cleaned after or before the toning or both. Maybe that has gone on here at some point(s) in the coin's history as well.
