Few years ago, it's actally common to find young Elizabeth type of coins (1966-1984). Nowadays most of the coins that I get in change is 2003+ onwards which is a disappointment in a sense as it's getting a bit harder to fill up my type set - but a good challenge I guess

What kind of coins are you getting in change in your area? Hopefully a good mixture of the old and the new.

I can't say that I particularly check the dates of my change. I do look at the $1s for immediate errors and the 20 cent pieces for the wavy, but I don't generally look at the rest.

I do however go through lots of rolls of all denominations. There is no shortage of dates (apart from the mint only ones). If you were to purchase (say) 1-2 hundred of the larger denominations from the bank, I'm sure you could comlpete a type set. When done exchange for a different denomination. Finally give the balance back to the bank. Voila!

I seem to be getting all dates still. The early ones are looking pretty sad these days though. Best to get em when they are newly released and put them away.

Not too many early dates around, anything prior to 1999 is pretty beat up. There's an occasional nice looking coin in all denominations.

Earlier this year I did find 2 x 1966 10¢ upsets though, 180° & 30°.

Got a 1981 50c COA in the change tonight. Only a few marks. Out of the ordinary for such good condition.
