I know I need help everyone tells me.
But in this case I need help with a coin.
I have been digging through my junk box which got slightly damp after katrina and have been sorting out the keepers from the culls.
I found this on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/Demi-sol-aux-ba...cmdZViewItem

I am looking at something very similar in my hand the only difference I can see is that mine is a 1 not a 1/2.

I would guess its in VG condition. Any one here have any info on this coin or a ball park value.

Thanks

France struck the one sol in 1793 and 1794. There were quite a number of mints making the coins so mint marks do make a difference in value. There could be an A, B, BB, D, H, I, L, MA, N and a W. Also coins were struck without the date in 1793 and 94. Value, per mint marks, will vary in VG from $10 to $35. Values in XF will vary from $250 to $440 give or take a few bucks. The coins were all struck in bronze. Krause numbers are 619.1 thru 619.12 and the No-Dates are listed as 620.1 thru 620.8. The two sol also carried the same design in 1791, 92, and 93. Hope this helps you a little?
