Rarely.

I am semi-retired from roll hunting. Even when I was actively getting rolls, the dimes were few and far between. Not really by choice, but availability. I primarily searched customer wrapped rolls and it seemed like people were not turning in dimes back then.

I am starting to do more cents and nickels lately but for the past year I had done mostly bags of dimes. Main reason was I have always found at least some silver in every bag of dimes.

I thought about it a few years ago, I wouldn't do it now... seems like a waste of time. To me the only reason you're finding something is because of somebody else's lack of knowledge or stupidity, then it comes down to luck of buying the right rolls at the right time. Just doesn't seem fun.

During my main roll hunting years, I did it sometimes. With regards to completing a Roosie silver set, I managed to find every date/mint except for the 1950-S, and I even found a 2006-S Silver in addition to several dozen Mercs and a 1907 Barber dime. I might still do it, but given I rather hunt for good deals on the fillers, it takes a back seat to cents/halves whenever I decide to hunt. I usually side search with dimes (and quarters).

Thanks for the information! I usually only search penny rolls but I'm starting to search dime rolls also.

Rarely for me. I did like $50 when I first started CRH and got 1 silver dime. To me, its really not worth it. When I CRH I just turn back in my rejects for Amazon credit at Coinstar. I wouldn't want to have too much money tied up with the high volume of dimes you have to search to get silver. That's why I typically stick with pennies when I CRH.

I'd have to say Roosevelt dimes are one of my favorites to collect though. They are probably one of the more boring series for most but I like them. BU rolls of Roosevelt dimes are pretty affordable so I am hoping they will increase in value over time. Melt today on dimes is about $60 for a roll. I've picked up several BU rolls of early 60's silver ones for $65-70 shipped within the past few months. I've even got some decent 55-P, 53-S, 54-S for like $85-90. 2009 rolls which have a fairly low mintage to today's standards occasionally go for $10 a BU roll too.

Long story short.. I don't do much CRH with dimes but I feel like they are a big underdog series. I really like getting BU rolls of pre-64's! Good luck!

Dimes are the best. 1 per $150 for seven years till I quit last year.

Sometimes. Whenever I'm out at my dumping bank, I pick up $125 in dimes to go through, and then pay that at my pickup bank for a box of nickels and a box of pennies. So far this year I've scored something like 6 silver dimes or so from 1948-1964 there. I think lifetime totals would have to be roughly 10 silver dimes at that bank and counting.

I've only scored from CWR. I did a MWR box once in late 2013 and completely skunked it. It was Brinks and they were see-through wrappers, therefore literally you could finish a box up in about a minute or two.

Silver does not have to be the only goal. Building a nice set, at least a clad one, is not impossible.

I can normally find about four silver dimes per box.
