Hello michaellisa and welcome.

Good eye, Machine Doubling common on these dollars from the late 60's to early '70's.
I see doubling on the legend and the horse and Mountie.

Check out some macro shots. See hat, chin, glove, arm, horse's mouth, ear.

Can you imagine the tears "if" that had been the large date quarter stuck to that nasty red stuff..

I also got lucky with my set. I had placed a touch of clear plastic around the cent decades ago before anyone knew about the nasty red off-gassing affect..

Awesome,DEVLEC, I saw a set on sale at CA
and was tempted but decided not to bite as I could not see
whether there was any toning on the 25 Cents. Great idea
on the protection of the penny. Nice set, great LB
Specimen Quarter. When I saw how close the beads were to
the rim, I knew.

There is so much to learn in this hobby.

I am sure I have seen these 71 - 74 set in the past. I either passed on them
or pulled out the silver coins. Never knowing about checking for varieties.

Thanks again for posting information like we have here.
