I find it annoying how USPS track & confirm doesn't update for days. Going on 3 days now with no status update.

I too find most government services to be of poor quality, overpriced, and basically being nothing more than make work. Just a shame that we can't opt out of them.
I like it best when they drop off a note saying 'sorry you weren't here to sign for your package, please come to the post office and pick it up tomorrow'. No we paid you to deliver and get confirmation. They don't even knock, they just slip a note in the box and call it a job poorly done.

I shipped a medium priority mail box with free tracking and got emails every time it changed hands

It's like throwing darts. I never know what kind of USPS First Class tracking it will be. Sometimes the package movement and tracking is smooth as silk, and other times just the opposite. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.

This. My current round is tracking nicely. It's been a year or two since I could say that.

I live in Michigan. Isn't this a strange routing?

Yep. In order to send something from CA to CA, you first must go through FL. I mean, how else are you possibly going to be able to do it?

Yeh, I bought of this one seller. I was wondering what happened since no tracking was showing. I got the coins with only one entry on the tracking that said "delivered".

You should have registered that package for a frequent flyer account - you would be 1/3 the way to a free ticket,

For the most part I have been very happy with the USPS system over the past few years, though occasionally I too see some wacky shipments. Most times the problems are that the item just 'sits' at a location for days, or that initially it gets delivered to the wrong city/state. I have noticed that shipments labeled by the USPS seem to have no problems, opposed to the 'do-it-yourself' tracking from ebay. The ones that sellers print at their homes seem to not work correctly most times. I've had sellers send tracking info to me the day of sale but they don't actually drop them off at the post office until days later. Recently I had a seller post that the item was 'in the mail' even though his local post office didn't mark it as "accepted" until nine days later. I ALWAYS get items I ship to my buyers within three days; I can't figure why it takes ten or more for others.
