Well this is certainly a quickly escalated ordeal... I asked a seller if he had combined shipping on multiple auctions and after he messaged back saying yes I go ahead and buy a few more listings thinking not too much of the $3.50 shipping per coin. So total I buy three coins for 10.50 and he sends an invoice for the full shipping of another $10.50 for shipping... I asked why this was and he got upset saying he was losing money on the listings and that no one else asked bout shipping so he said he would put five bucks in the package and asked me to never buy from him again... Interesting, sad, and as long as he doesn't give me negative feedback for asking honest questions, kind of entertaining. Anyways... quite the day.

That does sound strange. Normally when I ask in advance about combined shipping the seller is pretty clear about what the charges will be. Sounds like there was a bit of a grey area in your case. He just said "yes" but didn't state what the charges would be? Anyway, he said he would combine, so it shouldn't be full shipping charges. If he didn't want to combine shipping, all he had to do was say "no." I've had that happen recently. As long as you trust him to put the 5 bucks in the package, I guess it's ok. I'd probably be more comfortable if he adjusted the shipping to $5.50 on the invoice. He can't give you neg feedback, there's no option for it, so don't worry about that. Most sellers gladly combine shipping including me, but every once in a while....

He probably thought combined shipping meant shipping all the coins in one envelop, not shipping all the coins for one price. He obviously makes a profit on shipping.

With Denco7. Seems like the seller has a lot to learn yet. What get's me is when the seller does not want to combine the shipping price, but will put multiple items in the same package.

Yeah a little frustrating when they do that but I always at least ask before hand to make sure they combine before I go and bid on anything of theirs at all. Oh well we will see how it goes when the packages arrive.

You know he can't give you a Negative, right? Sellers aren't allowed to give anything but Positive feedbacks.
Think about that.

Well I knew that before but it must have slipped my mind at the time. So I am all good then. :) Just an interesting experience overall I'd say.

A very interesting experience, and I think you'll agree that you're really not losing much by ignoring that seller from here on in. Nobody would argue if you happened to mention that seller's name here. You have expressed no contrary opinion, just stated facts.

When people complain about such small amounts of money like that I have mixed emotions of being mad at them and feeling sorry for them. They either really need the money or have NO business sense.

I agree, he did you a favor. You don't need to be giving your money to someone like that.
