Question? I had a 1972 that sounded funny so I weighed it and it is 10.4g. Any ideas?

8.79g is struck on quarter stock.

10.4g is within the 10% mint tolerance or so I have been told.

I had a whole roll of those. Not sure what the cause is as no one has been able to offer me an answer everytime I have posed the question of under weight and overweight halves.

Now everyone start pulling barbers so I can wine about not pulling a barber so I can fine one

You just might be in luck.

On another forum I pulled Babe Ruth and pointed to left field and called out my prediction for the next months results and said I was going to find my first Barber and a hole filler Franklin or Walker and BAM! I found an 1892S semi key date.

When I found it I said cool a Barber and threw it on the stack of keepers and it wasn't until I got home and looked it up that I realized what I had found.

Good luck

I will whine too so my next box will have something. I haven't found a Barber, colonial, commemorative, 90% kennedy, walker, franklin, foreign, or gold eagle in a box of half dollars yet!

Well after getting 3 40% last box from complaining about it, seems like complaining might work. so leets see if I get any or ALL those things I haven't seen yet in my next box?

it has been a while since I have been on here. looks like we are all still finding plenty of silver. I moved recently from North San Diego County to North West Tucson, AZ. Anyone have any hunting tips for me here? I feel like there is a huge increases in the retired population and therefore, more people will be hunting here, making my chances slim to none...

if I disappear, I might have gone hungry using my grocery cash to order another loomis box this week. hopefully the $600 of rolled halves I currently have will not be rejected by any grocery, but if it is them I will have to eat lots of ramen to make this next box of halves work.

just too excited to take a break from this with arby and jack's finds!

need to eat the 24 packs of ramen I have anyway so they don't go bad. they only have a shelf life of like 2 eons right?

keep up the good finds all!

how is jack finding all these albino wrappers? are they refugees from other coin distribution services? are anything special IN the albino ones or just random accidents?

Check to see if it's a magician coin made from two coins hollowed out and ground down to fit together. These won't "ring" when dropped on a hard surface, instead giving just a dull thunk sound. They can usually be separated by putting them in a plastic bottle and shaking vigorously. I've found half a dozen over the years. Here are some photos:

Only Maruchan will do. Are underweight or slightly smaller really worth keeping? I have some 2000 that are a bit smaller but don't appear to be on quarter stock just a little thin.

4 Boxes the First one gave me 16 40% and 6 90% (3 Franklins 1963, 1960D and 1960 Proof )

2 Skunks than the last box had 1 40% and 1 64
