30 something dollars in random halves and all junk. Took forever to find a bank who actually had halves.

Fargo told me today that they had to start charging for boxes of halves for 2 weeks now, but didn't last time and won't this week because NOBODY told the branch or tellers HOW MUCH to charge for them.

So this may be my last box of halves that give up good things before having to go back to Bribks boxes. Need to do quarters and nickels and more cents anyway, so might be time for me to take a break after my 10th box and tally results and statistics on them and play with numbers while searching that 2009 D Lincoln, and the elusive 50 and 51 jeffersons.

Noticed when sorting my keepers finally that I have found: 3 1987 D, and 1 1987 S in total, but not a single P. Will I ever fill that hole at this rate? and not a single 1965 or 1964 (P or D) to fill the last holes in that book! (1970 has a plug marked MINT SETS ONLY so no hole to fill there).

wish me luck on this weeks box that it will fill those last 2 holes I have before taking a break from halves. until I find more time for halves everyone wil ahve to double down and find stuf for me to drool over and live vicariously through them! I have faith in jack and arby!

Four boxes. The only silver was a 1964. Also found 5 proofs: 1972, 1977, 1979, 1982, and 1987.

They don't know, that is why I am not going to be charged this week and wasnt charged last week. nobody has told the branch how much it will cost so they can tell the vault lady or the tellers.

I mean Loomis-fargo owns Wells Fargo banks, and now roll their own coins in heir own wrappers and boxes, so why would it be charging its branches money to get boxes of coins to continue to do business?

I have 1 other bank that can get Loomis rolls, but have to order $1000 worth and only have $500 to play with per month currently, and I have one more than I can get Brinks from. not sure if either of them will charge now too, but those are the only 3 banks I have tried of the 16 types of banks around. so might have to try Skank of America, or Wahivoka or whatever, or those other ones, but doubt they will just order a box for a walk-in.

Would they charge someone coming in with a $10 bill for a roll of quarters? I doubt it, so must only be boxes, and the ONLY way to get $1s and halves is by the box because NO bank keeps them around.

If they ALL start charging for boxes then I will go old-school and just get a variety of rolls from the teller trays which might have to come out of a box or be CWR/BWR. just lose all ability to do havles or dollars anymore.

Should find out Friday when the box comes in what the price is IF they have finally told the bank yet. Anyone else being charged for boxes about the face value?

I have 2 banks that order from Brinks, neither charge me at this time but both told me that there is usually a charge.

One bank has a coin counting machine and will sell me bags of coins as well for face value.

Went to another branch and they told me that a Bag of half dollars would have an $8 surcharge, the manager explained that the price is what Brinks charges per box when they order halves.

I can understand ordering boxes, if Brinks charges the $8 a box. But I could not understand the bag charge, the coins will only being going to Brinks at face value.

I am very upfront with the banks that I work with an explain if they charge me I will take my business elsewhere. The smaller banks will work with you normally to get more accounts and customers.

If you do get charged just remember how many times we all have been skunked and what could we do with the $8 in your pocket. I hope they change their mind and don't charge you.

Well someone dumped at it recently and I bought all the rolls they had (found a proof in them) so they didnt have to deal with them. but if I lose access to loomis, then arby had some luck with Brinks and maybe when I return to those I will have some luck. I just know if I DO sell any coins I find and get charged for the box, I will make sure to ONLY sell to reclaim my costs and not make any profit. I mean buying $500 for $508 means I should be able to get my missing $8 back without it being considered income right? if banks weren't so tight and kept dollars and halves on hand this wouldn't be a problem, but I guarantee that you dont get charged for buying a roll of quarters which the bank likely has to order anyway!

In general no, but they did produce silver proofs for most years included in the special silver proof sets. They're very rare to find in the wild, unlike the occasional clad proof. You can tell by the edge, the 90% proofs have the same silver edge as other 90%ers, and the clad proofs have the standard clad looking edge, albeit much brighter and more defined.

Got 49 40%ers 40-1968 2-1967 7-1969.
The 1968's are BU's 4 of the 1968's had toning on them.
I have a good relationship with this bank. and they save
all of there halfs for me. This came from $165 of loose halfs. I went in there the other day and the teller had
8 halfs 5 40%ers and 3 1964's sorry I did not take a picture yet.
