Speaking of Tampa, I was on vacation in FL about 1 year ago, so I ordered boxes of halves and looked through them. 12 boxes yielded only 10 silvers, with 7-40% and 3-90%, which was not good in my book. Since then I went on vacation in the NW USA and looked through 12 more boxes...only 7-40%ers, OUCH! Finding silver halves in boxes is RARE.

I just searched my first box of halves in a while. I got zero silver, several BU-looking 1974-D, 1993-D and 1994-D halves, and probably like 15 NIFC halves. I need to figure out if there's an outlet for NIFC halves found while CRHing.

Did another $500 in halves today...no silver, but 2 NIFC: 2006, 2008. Also, I believe I may have gotten a half that did not receive its nickel coating, purely copper.

I look for silver on the edge of rolls then I check dates and errors. I have a joker in my location, someone has painted or cleaned the ends of coins to make them look like silver. They write "buffalo boy and date" on the coin. I was sure I had a few more. Cute, wish I thought of that, Coins were a 1989 and 1990.

Gave up on box hunting. Ziltch in the last 4 boxes.
I do a lot better with customer rolled ones from the local banks
when they do get them. Today I picked up 4 rolls. 22, yes 22 ea. 40%er's
Most all BU. A BU 65 in there also along with 67,68,69's. No 66's
No 90% but what the heck. Be happy with this once a week :)

I used to hold onto my NIFC until I realized I had $1250 face sitting there and couldn't sell them because noone wanted them so now I just spend them.
