Found this in a roll of halves yesterday. It is 15/16" in Dia. and about .025" thick. I think it is a die cut fake.

In my first post I told about some of my finds, but forgot to mention the 2 87's I've found. Today I stopped by a couple banks to see if they had anything. One bank had $44. worth of loose ones so I got all they had, was hoping these were some an old timer had been saving for years and cashed in, but no such luck. The teller ask how many I wanted, I thought abut saying a lot more than you have. This bank also had several mint rolls of Presidential dollars. I've been trying to get one roll of each president, but didn't have a list of what all I had, so the teller told me I was welcome to come back and go through them to see if they had any I didn't have. I've also got a question. I've been finding several 78D's (so far probably about 50) some in fair condition, some not so good, is it worth keeping them all? Read early in this thread they were hard to find. I've saved a few coins here and there over the years, but not really what you'd call a big time collector and never attempted to put together a full set of anything, but plan to try to put together a few sets of Kennedy's for myself, and and few extra in case I ever have grandchildren I can give them each a set of at least decent P&D mint mark.

Last 4 boxes for the week didn't yield much, 2 boxes were skunks, I ended up pulling 2-64D, 1-67 and 1-69, plus 2 Clad Proofs, 81S and 10S. This year has defiantly been slower than last year. Hope you all are having better luck. Keep posting don't give up. "LOVE THE HUNT!"

My last 60 boxes in the past month have only produced 20 40%'s, I'mon a 28 box complete skunk streak right now. I'm so depressed I believe I have completely cleaned out my area. Loomis is calling brinks or going directly to my brinks dump bank and recycling my searched coins at an alarming rate. If I dump on friday at brinks I'll see the same coins on tuesday or friday of the next week. I guess I'm done, I can't think of a way around this besides driving to another state to dump.

4 boxes on Tuesday. 1 Franklin ender and 2 40%ers including a 1969 proof. Also a 2013 proof hole filler. I only need a 2012 and 2014 for my "from circulation" 1964-2014 proofs. 4 boxes yesterday. 2 40%ers, a 1964, and a struck through. I've found maybe 10 coins that looked to have the same mark in the same spot but smaller. I'll have to see if I can find a pic sometime.

Stopped in at another bank this afternoon and ask if they had any halves. They had $18.50 in loose ones. As the teller was counting them the edge of one looked to be silver, but when I actually got it in my hand it was just a dirty worn piece of crap. I haven't been keeping track of how many halves I've searched, but beginning with next weeks boxes I'm going to start keeping track of how many I search along with a record of how many of each year of 90% silver, 40% silver, commemoratives, NIFC, proofs and other abnormalities I find. I estimate since I started (approximately Nov. 2014) I've searched about 15-20K. I'm also going to try to get another bank or two to order halves for me and increase from the normal 2K per week to about 4-8K per week.

Jack here is a Greaser I found last year almost identical to yours. More than likely struck on the same die.

StoneFree there is no doubt that the feds are putting dumped coins quickly back into circulation, I have marked several coins that someone else has marked just to see how long it would take for me to see them again. Lately its been at least 1-2 coins a week that I have found before. The good news is silver is still showing up, though my numbers of silver pieces have dropped. I am searching 12 boxes a week and my first three weeks of this year I have pulled 31 total pieces of silver not great, but I am happy collecting 10 a week, more is always better. I am interested to see how this year will compare to last year. I have a feeling it will be much lower. I hope all of your luck turns around and you start to see more Silver.
Has anyone ever pulled out a "HOBO NICKEL" while searching. I have been collecting coins a long time and never heard of them. I wish I was artist, I could start a new hobby. You should see how much money people are paying for some of these coin. I told my daughter whom is an artist this could be a good job to run from home. So if any of you have pulled a hobo nickel please share the pic. Some of the art work is outstanding.

4 boxes today. All 4 had silver. Box 1 was some one news dump with half of the coins marked. 1 ender. 2 40%ers and a 1964. Box 2 had more of the same dump. 2 40%ers. Box 3 only had a 40% ender. Box 4 1 40%er.
