Mtl- great finds! . I agree with possibly getting burned out but only because the last 2-3 months have been really slow. Lately, just reading of Arby's silver hot streak has kept my fingers crossed for a monster box of my own I'm waiting to open a box with 5-10 silver Enders and having my heart skip a beat. Good luck hunting!

I'm in the Midwest and though my sample size is small compared to you guys (20 boxes), here are my averages:
Without my 1 monster box: 6.5 silver halves per box With my 1 monster box: 12 silver halves per box.
Looks like Arby just pulled 1 40% out of 8 boxes though, so he definitely has the skunk streaks too.

I just finished another 2 boxes, no enders, no betweeners, no nothing (one nifc which was not a hole filler) that makes 20 straight boxes of skunks...
I too am getting frustrated...I love the thrill of the hunt but that thrill can only be maintained if you occassionally bag the quarry...
what's the longest skunk streak anyone has had?
I am in the Houston area and am beginning to feel like there are too many hunters and silver halves have gone extinct.

Finally broke my silver skunk streak after 5 skunk boxes. I did 2 Brinks boxes last night and 2 more today. Last nights were the last 2 silver skunks, but produced a nice looking '80 proof and 11 NIFC. Today Ben came knocking with a 59D Franklin, I also got (1) '65, (1) '66, (1) '67, (1) '68, (14) NIFC and a nice '78 proof. Two weeks in row my bank that orders fed boxes has forgot to order so I only got 4 boxes again this week. The lady apologized and said she'd try to remember to order them Monday, so hopefully next week I'll get a couple fed boxes. I'm still waiting for a 70D or 70S.

plugging away is the key, you dont win if you dont play. standing orders are great for this. I hope to get my 4 boxes tomorrow, my teller orders them every week automatic, I havnt missed a pickup since sept. 60% skunk rate for the year, but as long as I do the work, I have a chance. I'mat 131 silver for the year with 82 of them being halves.
20k a week is about the max ive read about anyone doing. I hope it keeps up for you, I hope you have a system to keep your searched coin away from your fresh boxes!

4 boxes. Skunked again. One of the bankers at my main pickup bank told me on Monday he had some coins. He said at a branch he used to work at he was helping a man with his safe deposit box and the man said he wanted to cash in all of his coins in the box for cash to give to his grandkids. He told the man he could get more money taking them to a coin store but the guy just wanted to cash them in. He said there was about $600 face and he bought some of it from the bank after the old man cashed it in. I told him I'd be happy to take a look at what he had someday in case there was something valuable in the lot. I went there today to get my other boxes of halves and he said he brought some of the coins in for me to look at. He had maybe 75 halves (mostly Kennedy's except for 2 Walkers and 15 or so Franklins) He also had 50+ Peace and Morgan dollars. I told him I am not an expert on those but did look to see if he had a 1921 Peace or and CC Morgans as I know those are the ones to look for. He had approximately $25 in quarters (mostly Washingtons but 2 dateless SLQ and an AG 1853 arrows and rays quarter ) BUT he had a ton of dimes (mostly Roosevelts but a decent number of Mercury's) I told him I had to get back to work but would stop by Tuesday after I get off of work to take a better look at them. He mentioned again the story about the guy with the safe deposit box cashing them in and said another teller took $10 and he took the rest. He said he had a lot more in his safe deposit box so I'll have to see what all he has next week and what he plans on doing with it all.

Wow, sounds like quite the opportunity Jack. I shared a few 40%'ers that I found recently with the teller I get boxes from. She was very appreciative and yesterday while in there she showed me a be deposit bag with a few silver halves in it that she said she would share with me. Nice people out there, you just have to find them. My first box of the week gave up 3 40%'ers and a slew of NIFC (12 of which were 02D): 40% - 3 (2-'67, 1-'68) NIFC - 15 Good luck out there.
