I have a feeling I keep getting coins looked through already since about every third/fourth coin seems to have some mark on it. Would going to a different bank yield different results or would all banks in an area get their halves from the same place?

Out of $25 in loose halves from a bank, I finally found my first 1987 circulation strike half, an '87-D. I found an '87-S proof before, but never an '87-P or D, so that made my day.

From what I deduced from more than a few years of doing this they all get coins from the same source. I have also found silver in boxes full o marked coins. It all depends on where their dump ended and the old lady dumping silver started and hopefully they overlap in the same bag on the coin counter machine.

Silver streak continues! 4 boxes and 1 skunk:
Box 1 - 3 40%
Box 2 - 1 40%, 1 90% 1996 S
Box 3 - 4 40%, 1 1964, 1 1963 Franklin
2 more boxes tomorrow. Definitely feels good to be finding silver again - happy hunting to all!

Thank God for small miracles! After 8 consecutive boxes without silver a lone 1969 showed up. Also found my first 2015's tonight, (5) 2015P and (5) 2015D so now I can fill those 2 holes in the Dansco. I still have 3 more boxes to go this week, hopefully I'll get around to them tomorrow. I'll post another update then.

4 boxes from yesterday. All were Loomis boxes. 1 box had Brinks (maybe not Brinks since they were brown and not black and every other denticle is hollow ) wraps in it and 4 rolls that were turned inside out. The inside out wraps were from Casinos. 1 40%er. 1 box had an ender. 1 1964 and 1 40%er. Last 2 boxes were skunks.

@Lety, yup the banks can order a box from the Fed for you. Guess it depends on what bank you have and if they like you. They all CAN but a lot seem to say they WON'T for a number of different reasons
