I got a call from my CU today and they told me that they got 2 boxes of halves for me. First time getting halves from them. I was surprised since I asked about them 7 days ago and didnt get a call back until today. But, I was happy to get the call, so I picked them up. The boxes were taped up and some rolls were taped, but the contents appeared untampered, just dropped and taped back, probably by the CU. Boxes were same style and stamp #s as I usually get, so they came from the same source.
box 1: 2 x 1967 box 2: 1 ender: total, 1 x 1967
3 more for the pile :-)

6 more boxes today. 6 more skunks. Total now stands at 65 boxes in a row without a single silver half. This is surely a sign.

Searched 50 dollars in loose and CWR. I was loosing hope until I found a BU 1965 with amazing peripheral brown toning from light handling. The finger print on it is actually pleasing and not on any of the devices.

Skyshark, may I ask where you are located? I've heard on the east coast (I'm from NJ) silver halves are not unheard of due to the population density here. But I would recommend trying a bank in a different area and maybe you'll hear the sound you haven't heard for 65 boxes...

skyshark, I don't know your story. Do you purchase all your coins from the same bank? Do they all come from the same courier service? Do you dump at the same bank different branch? Local, regional, or national bank? Have you tried different banks/couriers? Despite some dissenting thoughts, there are many different practices by banks on how coin is stored, couriered, sorted, rolled, and boxed. This can and does affect a persons find rate.
One of the few constants is change. You are working a dead end right now but it may not last forever. I'd look for other options, be it a different denomination or bank. I'd still grab a couple boxes every few months from the same bank. This will maintain relationships built and let you know if anything changes.

I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. I'm not sure what courier delivers for one of my banks, but I believe Brinks delivers for several of the banks I used in the past. I dump at different banks and branches from where I purchase, and have bought halves at 4 different banks that I can think of off the top of my head. I have used Chase Bank, Fort Worth Community Credit Union, Texas People Credit Union, Bank of America (Chase is the most recent). I gave up for a long time on halves and switched to dimes mostly, where I have had a little bit of luck. It has been a few months since I tried another bank besides my main one, so maybe I will give another one a shot, but man this is depressing!

I've heard stories about Brinks, and some CRHers suspect they cherry pick the halves prior to rolling them. If you can, try to get a box from a different company besides Brinks and your luck might turn around.
