6 boxes into my 12 box marathon and notable finds are about 1 roll of NIFC including a worn 1987P, 1 gold plated 2004, my first 1974D DDO, and a bicentennial with a Cud on the reverse...Not much, but better than nothing.

When I picked up the 12 boxes the teller told me not to expect silver because Loomis removes it. His words are correct so far. I'll get through the other 6 boxes by late tomorrow, so I'll report back then.

Loomis? I've found Silver Half Dollars in Loomis Rolls before. Did they really start taking them out?

Loomis does not remove anything, almost all the silver I find is in Loomis rolls. I think they are trying to discourage you. My experience is to not order more than 3-4 boxes from the same branch or they get tired of seeing you.
That has been my experience.

I find silver in my Loomis boxes. I think Loomis removing silver is an urban coin roll hunting legend.

Same thing has been said about Brinks. When I first joined this forum I read through this whole thread and there were several mentions of Brinks pulling silver from circulation. One of my banks get their deliveries from Brinks and is the one I order 4 boxes from per week. One of those boxes from either December 2015 or January 2016 had 70 or 80 something pieces of silver (I don't remember) and most if not all were 90% (again I don't remember whether there was any 40% or not). Almost every week I pull one or more pieces of silver from Brinks boxes. I think most of these types of rumors probably get started by bank tellers that don't want to handle large amounts of coins on a weekly basis. I don't know who services my other bank, but there are only 4 banks in town, and I did see a Gardia armored car in town Thursday which is the day they get their delivery, so I'm suspecting that may have been their delivery. I know at least one of the other banks in town get their delivery from Brinks. Guess I could have followed them to see if that's where they went since they were only a couple miles away from the bank, but I didn't want to do anything to make them suspicious of me.

2 boxes from Thursday.

1 40%er and a couple of NIFC including the worst looked 2014 I have ever seen.

2 boxes from Friday.

Box 1 had an ender.

1 40%er. That was it

This has to be the 3rd or 4th ender box lately that has only had the ender in it.

Box 2 1 40%er.

Traded a roll of 90% Kens for roll of 90% quarters. Very satisfied with my trade.

Moved to the north side of Dallas and figured I'd test the waters with two boxes of halves, no luck. Some really nice 1990s halves, about 9 NIFC (1 really scuffed up 2011), a lot of marked coins. I'm wondering if the Dallas CRH is a bit saturated

2 boxes left from Friday.

Box 1 had 1 40%er.

Box 2 had a 1964.

Also found some NIFC and a Magicians coin.

5 out of 6 boxes this week each has a silver which is a good sign.

Boxes 7-12 of the 12 I ordered and picked up Friday yielded 3 rolls of NIFC including 2, 2015's, but absolutely nothing else of note.

No silver in the 12 Loomis boxes, just as the teller told me on Friday...just sayin'

Good luck everyone!

berto, sorry to hear you didn't score any silver out of those boxes, but I still doubt they are pulling silver at some locations and not at others, as some have mentioned finding silver in Loomis boxes. We all know it's luck of the draw as to whether there will be silver in our box(es) or not. All you can do is try again when you can and hope for the best. Knowing you're in an area that's well picked for silver, I'm pulling for you to get a monster box, but only if I can have one too!!

I get loomis boxes and find silver here in NY I've been told by bank tellers they just dump them into a sorting machine that wraps the rolls and put them in boxes....if they did see silver I doubt they'd do anything cause I have gotten silver enders that are visible.

10 boxes last week

7 skunks

Did manage to pull 1 1967 and 2 1964 D's one in each box.

JFK-Half-Dollar-Roll-Hunters:-Silver,-Proofs-And-Other-Finds

I took everyone's advice talked to the bank asking me if I wanted to order more through them.

They asked if it could be a different denomination due to the weight (all women at this branch) I said ok how about a $1000 in dimes a week, they said sure.

I went and bought them a cart so they can leave the cart loaded in the vault and won't have to lift the boxes or bags of change.

Very appreciative.

Good Luck All
