I went back to the same bank today and got two dozen more rolls. I only found two 40%, both '69D.

nice to hear arby :-)
I was supposed to get 4 boxes today but only got 2... no biggie, they were skunks anyway. thats me looking on the positive side ha.
now on a 12 box skunk streak, a new record after 18 months. thats ok, 4 more tomorrow, maybe they have something, or maybe I go up to a 16 box skunk streak.
sometimes you have to make your way through desolate lands to get to the fruit.

Very nice, Arby! I rarely run across Franklins any more. Skibdib, I feel for you. I know all about skunk streaks. I'd stopped hunting for almost a year, it got so bad. During my hiatus, I actually got a silver quarter in change! That's when I decided to start again. I don't know if the drop in silver prices made others stop, but locally it's gotten much better in the past few months.

FINAL 4 BOXES1 Commemorative 3 NIFC A few nice ones After only 4 weeks back to hunting, I'm having to call it off. My coin deposit fee waiver coincidentally expired a week after my first few bags of dumps. Of course they did not notify me even though I signed a contract specific for my business account. On top of that they do not consider bags of coin to be cash deposits which I am entitled to $5k/month before being charged fees. Probably a sign to stop anyways. Since my first week back when I found the 36 Franklins in 3 boxes, it has been a bust. 16 skunks in a row and all boxes have been almost complete garbage. Aside from the NIFC I find, not much else worth holding on to. I will be checking back now and then to see all the great pics you guys post and hope it continues to be fun for you all. Good Luck. Happy Hunting.I did however have $80 left in my pocket and the teller had exactly 8 rolls in their drawer. I guess my luck will be coming from other sources from now on. C'YA

i did 4 more today and they were better. box 1 was a skunk, but the rest had goodies. So skunk streak ended at 13, a new record high.
box 1: skunk box 2: 2 x 40% box 3: 1964 (sight for sore eyes) box 4: 1945 walker, 6 x 1968.
it was a nice end to the week for halves :-)

I went through about $400 more in halves and got skunked. The teller had one more box, but I think it's someone else's dump.

Well looked like a dump box, but was really happy to have found an impaired 2001 silver proof! :D

CPC24 To me finding silver at the bank from a teller is the most exciting finds of all it's like hunting them in the wild verses getting them in a box. Congratulations on you teller find

Numisma Quote: I went around to a couple of banks just looking for CWRs or loose halves. A couple had some, but nothing good. I went by one more bank at closing time, and the teller said, "Those wrappers look old, good luck!" I thought, "Yeah, sure..."
I got two rolls and one did look very old and frayed, the other had a Bicentennial logo. Sure enough it was full of '76 halves. However, the older wrapper had a pile of silver! This is the best single roll I've seen in years! In his message he says he got 2 rolls from the teller.
