My bank cut me off last week, so when my husband was going to one of our other banks today I asked him to put in an order. He ordered $2k in halves and $2k in small dollars (I'm still hunting for a few proofs and NIFC for my albums). He said they didn't blink an eye, so maybe this branch will work out for a while :)

Allfome, the great thing about this magnifier is it has two powers on it, you can set it up to where both hands are free to manipulate the coins under a very bright light and you can spot the double dies much quicker. You can score one of these for $20 bucks at Staples, or Wally World. Things are drying up here, another 4 boxes all skunks. Hope tomorrow is a better day. I need a SILVER FIX!

I would switch to dimes if silver is drying up, I usually find at least one when receiving more than $100 worth.

Hopefully some silver comes my way tomorrow with my 2 boxes. Also my precious metal people haven't been getting a lot of junk silver lately and I am dying to buy some at spot price, especially after silver and gold dropped substantially the other day.

There have recently been a lot of skunks posted here...I plan to pickup 12 boxes Friday, look through them over the weekend, and deposit them Monday. I'm hoping to average 1 collectible per box. I need to kick it in the rear and complete my kids' JFK booklets before they leave for college!

Quote: I plan to pickup 12 boxes Friday, look through them over the weekend, and deposit them Monday. Berto, if my math is correct you will be searching through, 12,000 half dollars in one weekend? After such a marathon, do you have bad dreams about halves? Or is it a labor of love?

Yak, it's a labor of love combined with an obsession, plus a little addiction thrown in :)

I went around to a couple of banks just looking for CWRs or loose halves. A couple had some, but nothing good. I went by one more bank at closing time, and the teller said, "Those wrappers look old, good luck!" I thought, "Yeah, sure..." I got two rolls and one did look very old and frayed, the other had a Bicentennial logo. Sure enough it was full of '76 halves. However, the older wrapper had a pile of silver! This is the best single roll I've seen in years! 90%: 1964 X 3 40%: 1967 1968D X 4 1969D X 5

CPC24 Nice Score, 4 boxes today, nothing to brag about, 2 skunks and boxes 3 and 4 each had 1-90%er in them, 1-63D Franklin, and 1-64 Ken. Made $2.50 on my dump this morning. Its always nice when you dump your coins and make a couple of bucks. Wishing you all the best. Betro, sure hope you score on those 12 boxes.

Thanks, arby, I'll report my finds here if there is anything other than 12,000 marked coins to report.
