skibdib - I have had boxes like that before - I figure that they just drop a mint bag in with the circulated coins? I had a box of small dollars the other day that was 25% mint condition 2015 Sac's. I kept about 10 and put the rest out there for the next guy to find.

143, I hope its a passing phase, but there was a 2015 coin in one of them. I will have to see if it persists, though, judging by the size of this dump, it had to spread across many more boxes. I'm assuming I will find them soon. If I don't, I will consider myself lucky.

Usually I would say that it is not the dumpable coins, but the silver in between. But when the bad coins choke out your whole box, well there is not much room in between for the goodness. I should have taken a pic of the 40% in the roll with 15 BU 1992 edges.

the hunt continues, let the silver trickle or > Good luck all! not every song can be freebird, and not every week can be a jackpot. I hope this will pass sooner than later.

Also, would hoarding '87-P or '87-D circulation strike KHDs @ < 3 million mintage for each be advantageous or would it just be a waste of time since it seems that they both would be pretty much all scooped up by now?

1987 P&D were NIFC coins. It's not likely you'll find many of them in the wild since they were sold by the mint and have to come from private collections. I've probably searched about 300K halves in the past 15 months and probably have between 10-20 1987 P&D combined. I save the ones I get, but as of now I don't think they have any premium over face value and won't likely have in my lifetime.

mdpmedia good luck on searching Hope you find lots of silver. There are still a bunch of 87s out there, I have pulled approx. 50 of them and several are AU. I think you have a good chance of finding a couple of GEMS. I keep the nice one I find and if they are really beat up I throw them back. Good luck and Welcome again to the family.

@ trapper, I would try to sell some if they were solid. But it seems more like a solid box was dumped up stream of me somehow. I wonder if it was the banking system that did it to meet my increased volume, or if this is just a random coincidence. Either way, it is in my head. 4 more boxes to pickup today, we will see!

Random act of asking the bank teller. No rolls, 7 pieces in the drawer. 1-40%... Gotta luv it!

ok, I feel better now. I got 4 more boxes, and there was no signs of the 1992p dump. same stamp #, but no sign nonetheless.

Ended with 5 bens and 13 40% between 3 boxes, the other box was a skunk.

Tomorrow I am seeing a banker buddy I have met through CRH. fitting it into the already busy coin schedule. He is a magician believe it or not, and very interested in the british pennies, which I will bring him a couple. I offered him some panamanian balboas too, while I asked him for the bags to dump with. I will give him 4 coins and he will give me a bunch of plastic bags that I can use to dump halves. I call that a win win!

glad to have a nice hunt to end the week :-D

ARBY

Nice haul on the monster box about 38 OZ of silver WOW!

I did 13 more boxes this week and found 13,40%
8 in 1 box, 3 in another and 2 more in 2 different boxes and they were both enders.
Finding one ender in a box has happen to me before makes you think it will be a fairly decent box then disappoints you.

Best of luck to all you cherrypickers.
