I haven't picked up any Halves since late April. Partially because the Manager keeps saying she is having trouble getting them and my chronic back problems are acting up again. I have called a couple of my other Banks and they say they are not having any trouble getting Halves for their customers.
I have an appointment with the Bank Manager on Friday afternoon. I'm giving her an ultimatum. If she cannot get 8 to 10 boxes of Halves on a regular basis I'll take my accounts to another Bank. It's not like I'm dumping the coins at her Bank, I just want her to order them. I have no problem switching Banks. My old Bank Manager has called in the past wanting to know how they could get me to come back. I originally switched for a better interest rate and lower monthly fees. I'll gladly pay a small fee on the account if I can order Halves. I can always write the fee off as a cost of business.

I'd say after Christmas, summer is the best time to search since you have gifts for graduation parties, the peak of wedding/anniversary season, and money for vacations. Its not quite as distinct as the peak around the holidays, but I've definitely noticed this trend, and hopefully the seasonal pick-up will be arriving soon.
That said, I've found a new bank that could order boxes of halves, and given my "beginner's luck" with a lot of procedures from new bank visits to others, we'll see if it delivers when I pick up my boxes tomorrow or Saturday hopefully.

Another slow week on the silver front, but it's still trickling in so I can't complain. Each of the last two weeks 5 of my 6 boxes have been skunks. This week the box holding the silver had 1/90% a 1951D Franklin (ender), and 2/40% a 1967 and 1968D. Also found 1 2003 proof and my usual handful of 2002-date NIFC. 2016 year to date silver 53.8077 oz. I made it through the first 4 months of the year without getting skunked any week. May started out slow, but still not skunked. I'm hoping to make it all year without a skunk week. The year started off great with several of the early weeks having multiple oz. of silver come in, but the last few weeks it's been pretty slow. These last few weeks even though I haven't made my 1 oz/week goal, I've been very happy just to have a little trickle in. Silver river, please don't run dry.

BEST WIFE EVER.....
My Wife knows how I get when I'm upset. I found out the Bank Manager was only able to get 4 boxes so I decided not to go get them. I was just going to switch Banks. I had enough! My Wife stopped by the Bank this morning and picked up the 4 boxes, carried them upstairs, and put them on my desk. Then after lunch she told me to go look upstairs. I found a glass of ice and Diet Coke and 4 boxes of Halves. I didn't even know she went to the Bank. I was changing the brakes in my other car and thought she was in the house all the time. I'm a very lucky guy.
I'll give the results later.

Hello, new guy here. Seems to me youall do much better than I do with the finds. Started hunting back in march and did real well. In 3 boxes the results were 22 90s and 28 40s. Since then( I get a box a week) no 40s and 3 90s with a spanish silver coin the same size as a half. What I did get 2 weeks ago which was odd were 28 1976 gold plated. From what I can tell they are worth .50 but a neat find. Also I have been getting a lot of clad proofs that are in perfect condition. In all 22. Must admit its the best slot machine I have ever played. Win sometimes but never loose. Hope this week brings big finds for everybody!

Murphy, when you say "back to the bank", do you bring those boxes back to the bank you picked them up from?

accordselux,
No, I don't dump any coin where I pick up. I dump all my coin in a coin machine at a different Bank.
What I actually mean is I'm pretty much only saving Silver. Everything else goes back.

I never found a foreign coin in halves rolls. What countries could fit into a half dollar roll and are most of them silver?
