I'm not sure what type of coin counting machine that whatever casino these came from uses but the whole box had mulched up edges not consistent with the lack of marks to the obverse and reverse if they had been paying out and bouncing off of each other. The reverse also appears to have roller damage.

Some better pics.

Thanks.

It was nice for once in a very long time to feel excitement about finding a coin in the wild. After you have found just about everything there is out there the thrill of the hunt is gone and it starts to just feel like a mining job.

I guess the only thrills left out there for me is to find a 1971 / 1977 struck on a 40% planchet, a Seated half, a true off center, and an Ike struck on a half planchet.

An Ike struck on a half planchet, please let me find one of those. A seated half would be nice as well. I will even take the 71/77 too. Your Arkansas is a lower mintage than the Iowa I found. Wish it was in better condition for you. Still a awesome score Jack. Jack how many barbers have you found since you have been searching. I have only pulled two. Someone here found some Seated coins last year I believe. Good luck everyone.

3 so far.

My first one was an 1892 S a couple of years ago.

I found the other 2 within the last 12 months.

arby and JJ, you are the kings of half dollar CRH-ing in my book.

I'm shocked to hear you have only found 2 and 3 barbers, respectively. Your search volumes put my lowly 113 boxes to shame, yet 2 of the only 23, 90%-ers I've found were barbers: 1912 and 1914. I'm not complaining!

Betro, thanks for the kind words, I must hand that crown to Jack, His numbers are out standing this year. Jack that 1892S is a sweet find. Do you still own it, would love to see it. My last four boxes for the week yielded me 1-45 Sweet lady, and 1-68, that makes it 13 for the week, my best week in a month I believe. Hope the numbers keep growing. Wishing you all the best. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Keep Stacking!

I found it while searching at work. I threw it in with the rest of the silver I found and brought it home. It wasn't until I got home and checked that I realized it was a key date.

I sent it in to ANACS during one of their free grading deals so that I wouldn't misplace it since it was now slabbed. I have misplaced enough raw coins over the years.

Did $4000 this week and received 21 40% and 4 90%. One of the banks where I have been getting my $2000 told me they have to start charging by the box which is $5. So I am unsure if I will continue or find a new bank. Does anyone else have to pay for their coins? And do you thing $5.25 would be a good investment for each box. That is $21 per $2000. Why do I have such bad luck with banks!

@Big7mag

I would find a new branch or bank.

I have been told the same at a few pickup and dump banks.

It is not worth the gamble even given your 4 previous good boxes if a 10 box skunk streak follows.

If you go to a new branch or bank start with 1 box a week. IF the teller mentions they are the head teller explain your intentions up front and if you find anything good come back the next week and tell them about it. Once you have established a relationship with a branch it doesn't hurt to bribe them with donuts every once in a while.

I stopped at my main Chase pickup bank last Tuesday and I got a temp teller. The regular teller who was in the middle of a transaction told her "That is ME (real gubment name withheld)" While waitng for management approval for $1200 in change since she was a temp we started chatting and the temp teller brought up me bringing them pizza and donuts and how she missed out. I guess the other tellers briefed her that today is Tuesday and I was coming in and what I did for them. It felt good to be appreciated rather then shunned when I walked in through the front door of a bank (which I always do at this branch for the last 5 years).

You never know how far a small gesture on your part will go towards future rewards and privileges and looking the other way on corporate policies and fees.
