In the teller tray at Wells Fargo, I noticed a silver looking edge to one of the half dollars. I bought them out. That one was a silver clad 1969D.
I also purchased three rolls of halves. A 1966 silver clad emerged from one of them.
These are the first silver clads I've scored in a long time........as in years.
ETA: There was also a 2005P NIFC that some joker drew a five pointed star on both obverse and reverse. A differently marked 1972D was also in the mix.

Arby, what's ED toned? I've set aside a couple of bicentennial halves that have similar toning, but it covered the entire obverse and reverse. I actually want a Magicians coin. I keep my phone backed up on an SD card, and I think it'd be fun to keep that tucked away in a half dollar. Your foreign coin looks Greek to me? It's a little fuzzy, but I think I seen an omega in the first word. And just to keep things interesting, here's an example of Die Deterioration that faked me out big time. I was able to figure out Machine Doubling on HALF DOLLAR a few nights ago, but this one made me look silly on the forums.  |

This weeks boxes were somewhat interesting. I found a variety. I found a total of 24 1987 and 24 1988. Most were in au condition. I mainly roll search and could tell from the reeds once I started finding them whether it was an 87 or 88. It was odd, but interesting. I found 16 40% and 4 90%. All 1964 except this 1901 barber!  I do not know the mint mark. The back is completely worn My first one, I couldn't be more excited!! Also found this 1985 coin from Costa Rica.    Edited by Big7mag

What's special about the 1988? I've been throwing them back since I was under the impression that the 1987s were the only NIFC until 2002.

Druu you are correct. The reason I kept the 1988 ones were because they were in au condition or better and there were so many of them. And they may be worth something some 30-40 years from now

nice finds all, especially the barber. Though beat up, a barber is still a barber when you hunt one down. Its a rare occasion.
I had 3 skunk boxes today and the last one gave up 3 x 40%, one was showing as an ender when I opened the lid off the box.

WOW, Big7Mag! That's awesome on the Barber and the 1987s... My box today was a good one... 2 90%-ers including my 2nd lovely lady, 3 40-ers, 1 Impaired Proof and 5 NIFCs...   I also found a second of the NIFCs was marked with my now diabled userid from another site. That's two of those I've found in 2,000 coins. I do wonder just how many of them the sad, miserable snowflake marked with my id...  CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

From what I can tell on that 1964, the obverse has been clipped but the reverse is clipped even less. It's a most unusual error.  Edited by DCM Coins

Druu Ed is environmentally damaged, not a natural toning, Excellent finds everyone. Gets me excited to see all this silver out there. I know its coming my way soon. Big awesome score on the Barber. . Hope silver keeps pouring in.
