Well I am not a happy Coin Roll Hunter this week, I searched 8 boxes today 4 this morning and just finished 4 this evening, All skunks, that is not the worst of it, the first box I opened there was an ender with 1/17 I marked on it, that is not the worst of it, every box had a couple coins I marked from this month. This is really making me crazy! I can;t believe how fast these are coming back to me. Very unusual! 4 pieces of silver for the week. I need a HUGE Silver Fix!

Can you post a picture of the triple clip?

Here's my lowly triple clip from this week.

At first I thought it was PMD because of the reeding in the clipped portion but seems to have the correct copper nickel layer flip over at the point of the clip.

I have never tried to fake a clip so I can't say if that is a true diagnostic tool or not.

I'll leave that to the error experts.

All of the clips I have found have the layer flip flop.

That does kind of look like PMD, but I'm not sure. A couple days ago I found a double clip Bicentennial Half.

did 4 boxes yesterday. 2 skunks. One box coughed up a 1964, and the last box had a 40%, a 1964, and a 63d. I'll take it!

oh yes, almost forgot. I had proof enders in 3 of the 4 boxes. I probably pulled around 75 proofs. I'm assuming it was a hunter in the region who dumped these, since all of the nice looking ones had a huge scratch completely across the obverse. That behavior would only come from a coin hunter, and a certain type at that. Doesn't bother me though, and the silver showed up anyway, so.... no biggie.

There is no reason to permanently damage a coin in that way.

At least Sharpie marks can be cleared with acetone.

yup these could not be fixed with acetone. And arby, sorry to hear about the quick turnaround on your coins. So strange, makes you wonder what is happening behind the scenes.

I did my last 4 boxes for the week and had 2 skunks. Finds were 2 x 40% and a beat up 35p walker.

Ill take it.

Good luck all,

a quadruple skunk happens all to often, and as you say, some is better than none :-) I was glad these coins decided to show up today.

Skibdib, you're more patient then I am. I would be completely annoyed by someone having the spite to scratch coins on purpose, just to disappoint another collector!

Take Care,

I agree there is no reason to permanently damage coins, I had about a half dozen NCIF that had two large scratch makes across the Obverse of them, Using a marker is no big deal because rubbing Alcohol works just as good as acetone and its less hazardous. Hope you all have a great week next week, keep up the posts, I don't want to see another marked coin for at least 6 months. May you all have a wonderful weekend as well.

Ok guys just finished up yesterdays four boxes and all I can say is WOW... Man January is being great to me so far. I can feel its gonna be a great year to come... This was by far my best find to date since I have been doing this.. Still small compared to some of the other monster finds I have seen on this thread and I also suspect there was a box or 2 more that maybe didn't go to me and hoping to catch them next week.. Only got four boxes instead of six because they forgot to change and up my order but next week will be doing 6 each order.. Ok on too the good stuff.

Out of four boxes I only got skunked on 1 of them and even that produced some beautiful newer date NIFC and 2 impaired proofs.. The other 3 boxes all contained silver Here are the results and is quite pic heavy..Had 2 enders that I could see in one box and ended up finding reverse ender later in that same box not to mention multiples in rolls searched... Enjoy as I sure as heck did!

1963 x1 (i'll take a bennie anyday)
1964 x1
1966 x8
1967 x18
1968 x19
1969 x22

First pic= total haul

[b]Here are pics of multiples found in some of the rolls I opened.. Didn't want to post them all as it would take up too much space but I know you guys love pics so there are quite a few

90% x5 Kennedys & lone bennie
90% x14 Wash quarters

Very nice finds congratulations

Did 7 boxes Wednesday I was suppose to get 11.
6 were skunks
Found 3,40% and 1,90% a Kennedy
all in the same box.I'm seeing coins that I
marked 2 -5 years ago.

Picked up 12 boxes yesterday I asked the teller to order 6 boxes he ordered $6,000, 12 boxes instead.
Will give results when finished.
Best of luck to all.

Thanks trapper,

You know whats funny is I found coins I have marked in the last month or two in every single box that produced this silver which kinda had me confused but hey I'm not complaining.. They seem to be having a quick turn around as this isn't the first time I have seen coins I marked and just started marking my coins 4 months ago as I had never bothered before...

Glad to hear you at least found something in the boxes you got.. Wish you would of had better luck but sometimes you just don't get lucky whereas sometimes you hit the jackpot. LOL guess you got quite the workload coming up with the 12 boxes coming... I wish you the best of luck with them and hope you score a decent haul. Hopefully you don't keep seeing your coins that you have previously marked or if you do hopefully there is a bunch of silver mixed in with it too :-) Good Luck and have a great weekend.

Got my first silver from CRH today! I purchase by the roll, not the box, but after approximately 10 rolls to date I found a 1967 JFK.
