Congrats on the finds! How do you volume guys do it? Are you just edge searching? I flip each coin to check for rotation, then set aside the potential DDO dates to check a second time, and it takes me a few hours to get one box done.

I could speed it up, but my problem is dumping. I re-roll mine in the shotgun wrappers. I brought 3k to one bank, and they had me start unwrapping and running them through a coinstar until a manager came out and accepted the wrapped rolls. Their policy was not to accept customer rolls, but since mine didn't look opened to them.. I've had better luck with Chase. Called ahead yesterday, and was able to drop off 2k no problem. There's no way I could search and dump 12 boxes a day -- I probably couldn't even do that in a week!

Congrats on your first find diangs56. It is very addictive.. If you can afford to search higher volume the more you may find.. Just a numbers game and luck.

Got my first silver from CRH today! I purchase by the roll, not the box, but after approximately 10 rolls to date I found a 1967 JFK.

Thank you very much skibdib and my pleasure on the pics. as I always look forward to seeing all of your pics and everyone else as well.., Yes it was an absolute adrenaline rush opening the rolls and the multiples in the rolls were a definite bonus.. I was very pleased with this last batch and my totals overall for only 3 weeks into the new year... Good eye bud that is the 64 that I pulled on the right in the last roll.. soon as I saw it I knew it was a 90% lol

Thank you Dru... I am not quite sure I have a straight answer for that other than I just do it lol.. I have accounts with 2 different banks and they have a total of 9 branches combined in my route that I use.. I have built a good relationship with all 9 banks and over time have gotten each one to accept 2 boxes a week dump( which 4 of the 9 asked me to bring 2 so they can send out right away and the other 5 I casually brought it up and they agreed) which allows me to do six boxes a week and they don't see me at most more than once in a month at any given branch I use not to mention I have a few other non account dump banks I can use for emergency that I know ppl at and will do me a favor if needed.. As for ordering I use only 1 bank to order but have 2 others that have offered but just haven't taken them up on it yet.. I could easily be doing 10-15 boxes a week without having dumping issues but just don't feel like doing all that running around afterwards.. I myself also re-roll all my halves and bring them back in the box and usually takes me about 2 hrs a box if I'm looking through the coins and not just edge searching, an hr if just edge searching.... Anyway good luck on your hunts and hope you can score some silver.. Best advice I can give is to form a good relationship with any banks you use for this hobby and never bring the coins back to where you got them from and also treat the tellers once in awhile as they will always appreciate it and may even put stuff aside for you. Works for me anyway :-)

Dlangs56, Congrats on your first silver find!!

I just found my first piece of silver in a roll a few months ago, so I remember that feeling quite well. Glad you got to experience it Good luck on your future hunts!

That's another great haul Chet. My silver river slowed down considerably this week with only 6 pieces, all being 40%. 2017 year to date silver 12.2244 oz. I also found I think either 5 or 6 impaired proofs and a 1993P WWII commemorative. I'll be back at it again this week hoping for bigger and better things.

Thank you RCook, Yes I have been very fortunate this year so far and am grateful for the luck I have been having..Sorry to hear things are slowing down on your end but hey at least your still finding silver along with some other goodies and that commorative is definitely a nice bonus.. Things will pick back up for ya hopefully.. I have seen many of your hauls which have been quite impressive and hope to have the numbers that some of you get in a year of searching. It really blows my mind to see some of the finds posted on this thread.. This has become my first stop when I come to the forum just because I love to see what all you hunters are finding and it gives me hope on those not so great weeks. Good luck to you on next weeks batch and look fwd to seeing your finds.. Take care

I look at the date of every coin.

I set aside all 1974D and use a loupe to check for the DDO.

I flip over every 1982 P or D as I don;t have time to discern the mintmark and if it looks like there is a chance of missing the initials it gets set aside for a later look with a loupe.

All beat up, PMD, holed, otherwise crap coins along with all 1982 and the reject 1974D and 1982 after the loupe coins get marked.

If I get a box even with some of my previous marked coins in it if I find some 1974D coins that aren't marked I know the previous dump has already been diluted with new coin.

Finished both boxes that I got last Friday. Total for the boxes are as follows:
1942 P WL
1943 P WL

1969 D
1967 P
1968 D very nice

1980 S
1983 S
1977 S

1987 D
1987 P
Must have been a collection dump, as I found some exceptional 1971, 1972, 1973, and a 1978 in AU condition.
Plus after finding Centennials that were in AU condition, I started saving them in the 2nd box and have a full tube of 20 in AU or better. Also upgraded some of my others with better condition coins found in these two boxes.
The 1987's could be AU also, imagine finding both the P and D the same day just 2 rolls apart. Webekin

I'm relatively new to roll hunting and have only gone through 3 boxes of halves and didn't find anything, yet today I went to my local Wells Fargo where they had 2 rolls of halves and I found 11 40% silver halves in one roll

This week got me 14 silver pieces. Which exceeds my 5 piece quota to continue searching halves. Found 13 40% and a lone 64. Found a few nice NIFC including a 2016. Also found 4 proofs. Well it sure looks like I'll be ordering another 3 boxes next week. (Also the bank I ordered the boxes from had $30 in loose halves and scored another 40% from the other day. Let's see what next week holds, as I have been getting some decent finds the last 2 weeks. Thankfully this week doubled last weeks haul granted last week I had 4 90% and 3 40%, still silver is silver.
