I have had an excellent week, very happy to say, my last 4 boxes for the week all contained Silver! no skunks, also one box had 3 coins I marked 11/16 one twice., Not sure how long silver will flow I just hope it continues. I pulled 1-65, 6-67, 6-68 and 1-69, Plus a Clad Proof 1992S. So that is 23 pieces for this week, I am happy. May you all have a wonderful weekend, and I hope you all score silver in your next boxes.

Just came back from a roadtrip - bought 1 bag of halves that delivered! 89 - 40's, 16 - 90's (including 1 walker and 5 Bens) and a 1810 Large Cent. The Large Cent was hammered but it is my oldest CRH find. Pictures to come.

As a side bonus there were also 3 silver dimes in the same bag - 2 Rosies and a Merc.

After clicking on your profile Sauce it seems you are either downstream or upstream from me.

But don't worry, locally the last few weeks it seems all of the past 2 years of my dumped halves have been flushed out of my area some how (maybe to your area )

Teal M was from July 2016 dumps.

I was wondering when someone would post the mark.

Every 2 years the color changes.

Every year it changes from letter to numbers.

Currently 2nd year teal.

Before that orange.

Before that black.

7 years ago it was random numerical counter stamping which turned out to be too much work and the randomness served no tracking purposes.

Still waiting for someone to post a counter stamped NIFC that I spent.

Most of the counter stamped have been vacated from the area.

Most of the black have been vacated from the area.

However int he last 3 months the counter stamped have resurfaced.

Unless you work for Brinks or Loomis all we can do is speculate on the theoretical rotation of coins but it would be educated guesses.

A recent box of half dollars almost seemed like it would be a bust right from the start, but a twist of fate ended up making it worthwhile.

41 of the 50 rolls in the box were edge-checked and re-wrapped Loomis ones. The last 9 rolls in the box were fresh and untouched. These yielded a 1967 and a 1970-D. The excellent ratio in the last 9 rolls definitely made me wish I had received the batch that they came from, rather than this box!

The fact that a Brinks box--delivered by Brinks--contained Loomis coins may mean nothing, but it may also reinforce the supposition that certain areas draw from "collective" coin vaults.

On a different note, this box marks 3 times out of 9 attempts that I have received previously searched boxes. 2 boxes were of the "make them look as much like machine-wrapped rolls as possible" type seen here, while 1 box contained all customer-rolled coins.

This is starting to happen frequently enough that I guess the armorer car services are saving time now by simply circulating the same boxes of half dollars from one bank to the other. In an effort to avoid this, I've tried to spend as many half dollars as I can in an effort to encourage them to leave circulation (since there's a good chance they will be saved by individuals who believe they are "rare").

Ear, I'm glad to see you salvaged a few great coins from the box despite the re-wraps!

jack jeckel!

I was hoping I would find the person behind those marks! It's funny, I was frustrated with the person behind those marked coins, but now that I know who it is, I'm not frustrated at all.

I'm also located in Wisconsin, so that's likely the issue here. I don't mark any coins, but if you'd like, I would be more than happy to start marking so you can see if my dumps end up in your boxes as well. Anyways, it's nice meeting you!

Take Care,

Sauce

Sure.

Sounds like a fun game.

I have found a few repetitive marks over and over year after year and I think as you mentioned if every roll hunter had a face to face sit down and made peace about finding their "marked coins" in your "territory" it could squash a lot of CRH gang wars.

nice 1970d for sure! I want to find one of those, hoping this will be the year.

Did my 4 more boxes. First two were the recent bad stamp #, and they were both skunks. Last two boxes had a different stamp, so I knew they had a chance. Hit a 1964 on the 2nd roll, and they both ended up being good boxes.

Between the two of them, 5 x 90%, and 6 x 40%. Made for a good week in the end, and nice sight for sore eyes! hoping to see some more of those boxes next week, but who knows. Good luck all,

Searched four boxes this week and only one skunk. Found a nice 40% 1976 in one box, 3 40% in another and 1 40% in the last box. Today while returning 2 boxes , I rescued a 40% from a teller tray. Always love those easy, chance finds.
