Hello everyone, I've been reading through this thread and wished I could search through halves just like everyone here, but unfortunately here in Canada, we just don't have half dollars anymore. Can't order them at the banks and its very rare to find any that were deposited. I'm currently in New Hampshire visiting my grandmother for her 90th birthday, so I took the opportunity to go to some banks and ask for some halves. Talk about beginners luck! Visited 2 banks. The first bank had $19.50 in halves, all loose. Found 9 40%s The next bank only had $1.00 in halves. Scored 1 40% This is awesome!! Wish I could do this all the time!

Two boxes from my one branch... first one had 20 NIFCs, and no silver... second one had only 3 NIFCs, but this little prize was also in there! Believe it or not, it's only my 2nd Franklin. I've found three Walkers to date.

8 boxes from Friday. Found an UNC 1954 Franklin, a rolls worth of NIFC, another prayer token, and a 1943 Australian large cent. Not good

Thanks, Domain555 and jbuck. Going through another box and pulled a beat up 90%-er, but I'll gladly take it! Also found three marked NIFCs - two are marked in blue sharpie, one is in black. I'm keeping them, of course. I'll get some acetone or use my sister's nail polish remover to get it off... makes me wonder why mark NIFCs in the first place if someone else is going to pull them from circulation? Doesn't that kind of defeat the whole purpose of marking the coins?

Well, sometimes I will go and mark through a bunch of halves, not caring about NIFCs. Not everyone collects them, and I don't.

The point I was making is NIFCs get pulled a lot more than stuff like 1971-D or 1976-D coins - NO ONE collects those due to the 300 million-ish mintages. When you mark one of these you could see it again. Lots of people collect NIFCs, so you're much less likely to see them again if you mark them. That defeats the purpose of marking the coins, doesn't it?

My boxes this week were somewhat interesting, but not in a good way. This week I ordered 6 boxes and 5 of the 6 boxes had the date 7/3 written on them. I'm assuming it's a date. It was written in sharpie on the top right corner of the boxes. Also, my boxes had a different color wrapper. All 5 of the 6 boxes were skunks and it was looking like that I was gonna get skunked for the first time on my whole order. I managed to pull 1 40% in the box that didn't have the writing. I saved it for last. The two marks pictured below were everywhere in the boxes that had 7/3 written on them. I knew it was going to be bad when I opened the box and there was a dot on the reverse on almost every ender. Are these anyone's marks?

John that's one beat up '64 Kennedy. Who cares it's still 90% silver. I've probably got a few that look just as bad.
