However, next door was a 5/3 bank. I dont have an account, but I figured I would try. Teller had $10 loose and as he handed them over I knew it. 10 of them 40%ers.

I went through another box today. I got 1 40%, 2 proofs, 10 NIFC's, a 73 with die crack and one that someone may have brazed something to it.. if so.. they were serious about making their coins.. lol

Went to the bank to turn in my box of small dollars and saw the coin tray with numerous shinny halves. I told the teller I'd take all of those ($10). $9.50 were pre 1970's! Whoop, Whoop!

Nice finds shotgun I had a similar find the other day $16.50 one teller all shiny 40%.

nice finds guys. the only other coins that show in in the boxes other than Ken's are a couple I've found from Panama.. The Ben's and Walkers are hiding somewhere else.. lol

Well, after reading this forum, I took the chance and got 4 roll of halves this past Friday.
The teller told me that some older person just brought 7 rolls in.
Went through 4, pulled out a few, rolled 3 back up, and went back in for the other 3.
Results: 1-Walker, 1-Franklin, 2-1964, and 5-40%.
Beginner's luck! So, today, I went to another bank and got 4 more rolls.
Results: 1-1964, and 2-40%.
However, I think sooner rather than later, my luck is going to run out. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Sorry....here is a picture. I've been CRH with my sons for some time ----- pennies and nickels. Pulling wheats, and pre-1960 nickels. We've also found a handful of Buffaloes to date. But, decided to take a chance with halves.  |
